Hard to believe these crazy little maniacs were tiny, hairless, helpless babies just weeks ago 😆 They are going to be released soon, and will live wild happy little lives. Thank you to everyone who found baby squirrels and got them to us....they are all doing great!

All the animals at Porky's Wildlife Rescue wanted to say thank you to our followers and all the great people who let us gather persimmons, nuts, and other local goodies. And thank you to everyone who brought stuff by for them. They have been pigging out on pears today 🥰 We had tons of calls and messages and are still trying to get as much stuff gathered up for the animals as we can. If we haven't made it out to anyone's yet, we are trying,. We truly appreciate all the awesome people in our area that gave us permission to come pick up persimmons, and gather nuts. Thank you all soooo much! The animals need to fatten up before our crazy indiana winter gets here....

Crockett, Monroe, and Cockelbur are our 3 raccoons with neurological and balance problems. They have been working hard on their climbing skills lately and yesterday tried their luck at catching minnows. They all did great and caught some fishes 🥰 If you notice, they tried to keep their butts on the outside of the pool. This helps them to keep from falling all the way over in the water when they loose their balance. They are very smart little guys and do things their own way. We are hoping they will be strong enough to release one day, but if not, they will always have a safe place here at Porky's to call home. We just love these guys!

If anyone in our area of Daviess County Indiana has a surplus of persimmons or trees with several on the ground please lmk. We are gathering things they would naturally forage for, so they will know what's part of their diet when they are released. And, they LOVE their persimmons! 🧡 They also love any of our local nuts and fruits. Any extra going bad would be greatly appreciated and not go go to waste here. It also helps us save money on our produce bills, we can put towards things we need and help get supplies built up for our next springtime baby rush. My cell is 812-709-2349...please text me if you want to help!

We love our raccoons at Porky's Wildlife Rescue...if you find an orphaned, injured, or sick raccoon please text me at 812-709-2349. My love for a chubby little raccoon named Porky is the reason I decided to become a DNR rehabber. We have rehabbed and released so many this first year, and hope to help many more in the years to come. Ive worked with many species of domestic and wild animals my entire life, and raccoons are truly amazing little animals. If you love raccoons and any other species of our local wildlife, please donate and help us save as many as we can! The more donations we can raise, the more animals we can intake and give a chance to heal and be returned to the woods where they belong.🥰 Donations can be made through our gofundme pinned on our page, to PayPal at porkyswildliferescue or checks sent to Shanell Dixon at 212 Apraw Rd Washington In 47501. We want to give a shout out to the Daviess County Fair Board and say thank you so much for your donation. It is going to help our long term residents have large comfy enclosures this winter and has all ready helped us stock up on puppy & kitten chow, milk replacer, bedding, food, toys & snacks. The raccoons, possums, and squirrels have been pigging out and trying to fatten up before our wonderful Indiana winter gets here. ❤️
