Creek loves to go outside and watch our dogs play in the yard, as long as he has a human friend to sit on while he's out ☺️ All the other babies enjoy playing outside in the grass. Creek freaks out if he's alone so he gets spoiled a little bit extra, lol. When he was found, he was sitting on the side of the road on top of his dead mother. We think this may be why he doesn't want to be on the ground or alone. 😢 But we'll help him get past his fear and learn to be a big tough coonie ready to live on his own & capable of surviving in the wild soon ❤️ All the babies have vet appointments, wormings, vaccinations, and health checkups this Friday. Meet Bumper ❤️ He had a 💩 y day, and deserves our love & support. He was hit by a car & left on the side of the road, like his life means nothing to the busy humans passing him by all day. A sweet lady went out of her way to get him into a box and bring him to Porky's Wildlife Rescue tonight. We LOVE our raccoons here and have him warm, stabilized, and taking fluids. I love helping animals in need and another bonus I never thought I'd enjoy, I LOVE meeting people who bring me these animals, that they cared enough to stop and help. People who care like this give me hope for our future, and I had started giving up on humans for a bit, but now have all new faith with some of the great people I've met recently 💕 say prayers for Bumper a quick recovery and ability to be released again asap! I honestly hate asking for donations but donations are the only thing that helps me care for them. I pray our community cares and will be proud to have a wildlife rescue here in our area. (I've taken animals from all over the state this year) Anyone who can, please donate to such a great cause. And you can see how your donation helps by following us on Facebook. Please remember that a raccoon out in the daylight does not mean it is rabid or dangerous. Most of the time it is a very hungry mother trying to find enough food to sustain herself & her milk for her young. I have so many orphaned babies right now, any babies are so lucky if their mom is still alive and struggling to raise them. Please don't jump to conclusions or think it's rabid & shoot it. Rabies in raccoons, then transfered to humans is more rare than hitting the powerball while being struck by lightning. She's just doing the best she can in a world we've made much harder for her to survive in. Give her a break and care for our wildlife 💕

A few of the smarter babies have figured out if they come to the feeding station early, they can pig out on the cookies I put on top of their kibble for treats. They have all kinds of healthy fruit & veggies also, but this guy wastes no time grabbing a cookie to dunk in his water tank. (Which they get super gross every night for me to clean the next day 😆) They have a nice clean baby pool at each feeding station also, stocked with minnows daily. I won't even say what a few of them do to that every night 😆 💩 🦝

We've got 2 more new babies who were found on the side of the road near their deceased mother 😢 Norman & Mitchell are their names, and the people who brought them in were great!! Saving animals is expensive and hard work, but they are worth it. Surprisingly one other part I really enjoy running this rescue, is meeting and talking to people who care enough to bring these animals for help. I had started to give up on humans and this year has shown me there are so many kind caring people out there, and makes me hopeful for the world we live in now. Just like the people here who follow & donate... just to help little animals in need. Everyone is so kind & caring, and I love talking to people like that. These two tiny raccoons were so skinny and covered with ticks but are bathed, warm, and have full tummies now...they even have new baby blankies & stuffed animals.
