📚✨ CCWTX Summer Book Club: June Selections! ✨📚
We are so excited to kick off our Summer Book Club with our official June picks! These books beautifully tie into the mission of Crisis Center of West Texas in age-appropriate ways.
Here are this month's featured titles:
👩 Adult Selection
"Know My Name" by Chanel Miller
A beautifully written, powerful memoir that reclaims the author's narrative after a high-profile sexual assault case, exposing the structural biases of the legal system while celebrating the resilience of the human spirit.
🧑 Teen Selection
"Wait, What?" by Heather Corinna & Isabella Rotman
A friendly, inclusive, and comic-illustrated guide that answers real questions about puberty, bodies, relationships, and digital safety with total honesty and zero judgment.
🧒 Kid Selections
Age 3–7: "Don't Hug Doug" by Carrie Finison
A fun and lighthearted picture book that teaches young children about body autonomy, respect, and the simple power of asking for permission before giving a hug.
Age 6–10: "I Said No!" by Zack & Kimberly King
A gentle yet empowering story designed to help elementary-aged kids understand personal boundaries, identify safe adults, and confidently use their "No" voice.
