🇺🇸 VFW Auxiliary Member of the Month Spotlight: Vicki Morreale-Garcia 🇺🇸

Meet Vicki Garcia, our current VFW Auxiliary President! 🇺🇸

Vicki joined the Auxiliary in 2012 under her father, Vincent Carl Morreale, a proud WWII veteran. She became a member to honor her father’s service and to continue his legacy by helping veterans today.

Over the years, Vicki has proudly served in many leadership roles — including Treasurer and President at the Auxiliary level, District President at the District level, and Junior Vice at the Department level. Her dedication and passion for veterans shine through in all she does.

When asked what being part of the Auxiliary means to her, Vicki shared:

“It is a way to honor my father and his service by paying it forward to help veterans now.”

And a fun fact about Vicki — she loves to sing! 🎶

🎃🇺🇸 What an amazing turnout! 🇺🇸🎃
We had lots of kiddos come out to the 5th Annual Trunk or Treat at the Odessa VFW! 🎉👻

It was such a fun afternoon filled with smiles, costumes, and lots of candy! 🍬🍭

A huge thank you to everyone who decorated trunks, donated treats, and helped make this event another great success. Your support keeps these traditions alive and brings joy to our community year after year. ❤️💙
We can’t wait to see you all again next Halloween! 🎃🇺🇸

🎃🇺🇸 It’s almost time for our Annual Odessa VFW Trunk or Treat! 👻

Bring the family for an afternoon full of fun, candy, and community spirit!

Join us Saturday, October 25th at 2:00 PM in the Odessa VFW parking lot — we’ll be handing out treats until the candy runs out (or 4:00 PM).
We can’t wait to see all the kiddos in their spooktacular costumes! 🍬✨

🇺🇸 POW/MIA Recognition Day – We Remember 🇺🇸
Today at Odessa VFW Post 5675, we came together to honor the heroes who were taken prisoner, those still missing, and the families who continue to carry the weight of uncertainty.
We remember the voices silenced too soon, the stories left unfinished, and the bravery that carried them through unimaginable trials. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
As a community, we stand together — united in remembrance, prayer, and gratitude. May we always keep their memory alive and their families close to our hearts.
You are not forgotten.

Calling All High School or Homeschooled Students in the Odessa Missouri and surrounding areas in Lafayette County, MO, Ages 16–18!

Are you ready to support veterans, grow your leadership, and earn scholarship support? The VFW Auxiliary Youth Service Scholarship is open to all eligible students—including homeschoolers—living in in the Odessa and surrounding areas in Lafayette County, Missouri.

Apply to receive:
✅ A $1,000 scholarship
✅ A Lifetime VFW Auxiliary Membership
✅ Real-world leadership and service experiences

📚 To qualify, you must:
• Reside in Lafayette County, MO
• Be eligible for VFW Auxiliary membership
• Maintain a 3.5 GPA (homeschool transcripts accepted)

🇺🇸 VFW & Auxiliary Represent in the Puddle Jumper Parade! 🇺🇸

We were proud to have the VFW & Auxiliary Post 5675 join in the fun and patriotic spirit of the Puddle Jumper Parade in Odessa, MO this year!

Our Honor Guard led the way with dignity and respect, followed by our dedicated riders, VFW members, and Auxiliary members, all showing their pride for our country, our community and our vetrans.

It was a powerful display of service, unity, and tradition — reminding everyone that we continue to honor all who have served and support those who serve today.

Shout out and reminder to our members, we will be hosting the District 6 meeting at our post in Odessa tomorrow, Sunday, July 27th. Auxiliary School of Instruction to begin at 10:00 am, lunch at noon, followed by our meeting. Hope we can see you there. Message us with any questions.
