Due to July 4 we will be changing the date of our Midland group meeting to July 11. Additionally, the group will be meeting in the Meeting Room instead of the Chapel Room. We look forward to seeing y'all there!

Information, Location, and Time:

UTPB MMG will be starting an 8 week Midland Veterans Book Club group, host by VFW Post 4149. Every First Saturday of the month at 10 AM through December.

Veterans will be engaging in discussions of war and military-themed literature, graphic novels, poems, memoirs, and fiction. Themes include honor, camaraderie, displacement, mental gaps during moments of trauma, and the challenges involved with redeployment.

All Veterans are invited to attend. Please come and join us and bring your battle buddy, shipmate, wing-man or fellow devil dog.

Free Books provided. Donuts, coffee, and soft drinks are provided.

Starting 23 March we will be starting an 8 week Odessa Veterans Book Club group.

Veterans will be engaging in discussions of war and military-themed literature, graphic novels, poems, memoirs, and fiction. Themes include honor, camaraderie, displacement, mental gaps during moments of trauma, and the challenges involved with redeployment.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at UTPB on Feb. 23rd & 24th for the Mending Mental Gaps Reception and Discussant Leader Training!

Veterans, students, and community members came together to build skills for leading meaningful conversations on the experiences of war and the challenges of coming home.
We’re grateful for our partners at UTPB and the National Endowment for the Humanities – Dialogues on the Experience of War for supporting this important work.
