🇺🇸 Huge Congratulations to VFW Post 4372 Auxiliary! 🇺🇸

​We are so proud to celebrate an incredible milestone for our Auxiliary! Thanks to an amazing push this past month, we jumped from 96% all the way up to 101.75% membership (sitting strong at 408 members paid for 2027)!

​A very special shoutout and thank you goes to Kimberley Phillips for your phenomenal recruiting efforts your hard work is truly inspiring!

PROUD TO SUPPORT OUR VETERANS & OUR COMMUNITY!

Paul G. Mahoney VFW Post 4372 is proud to participate in Boots, Flags, & Freedom, a basin wide, family friendly event honoring our Veterans and celebrating 250 years of American resilience!

Join us Friday, September 11th from 6:00–8:00 PM at the UTPB CEED Center for an evening of remembrance, resources, family activities, and patriotism.

The event will also feature a special 9/11 Memorial Reflection Display, commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, along with a patriotic Flag Retirement Ceremony.

We are honored to stand alongside fellow Veteran organizations, community partners, and families as we remember those we lost, honor those who served, and celebrate the freedoms they have defended.

We hope to see our community there!

A DAY OF GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY!

Looking back at our Drive-Thru Backpack Giveaway, we are reminded of what can happen when a community comes together for its children. From backpacks and school supplies to smiles and helping hands, this day was truly special!

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to ALL of our amazing sponsors and community partners who helped make this event possible. Your generosity and support allowed us to provide local students with the supplies they needed to begin the school year prepared and confident. We could not have done it without you.

A special thank you to Operation Homefront for generously providing the majority of the school supplies distributed during our giveaway.

We are also incredibly grateful to our VFW Post 4372 members, Auxiliary 4372, volunteers, and everyone who gave their time and energy to help everything run smoothly.

Last night, the competition officially kicked off! Our fantasy football crew got together for Draft Night, making picks, talking a little trash, and getting their teams ready for the season.

The draft board is set, the teams are loaded, and now it’s time to see who’s actually got what it takes to bring home the championship!

🇺🇸 A Heartfelt Thank You from VFW Post 4372 🇺🇸

Paul G. Mahoney VFW Post 4372 would like to extend our sincere gratitude to City of Odessa, Texas, Mayor Cal Hendrick and City Councilman Eddie Mitchell for presenting our Post with this very special proclamation in recognition of our 81st Anniversary.

For 81 years, VFW Post 4372 has proudly stood in service to our veterans, their families, and the Odessa community. To have those years of service officially recognized by our city is an incredible honor and a meaningful part of our Post’s history.

This proclamation represents more than a milestone, it honors the generations of veterans and members who have served before us, those who continue to serve today, and the legacy we are committed to carrying forward.

Mayor Hendrick and Councilman Mitchell, thank you for your recognition, support, and continued commitment to our veterans and VFW Post 4372. We are truly grateful to have shared this special moment with you.

At VFW Auxiliary National Headquarters, we've received a number of questions about our Scholarships and Programs, one of which keeps coming up: "Why can't I find information about Illustrating America under Scholarships in MALTA or on the VFW Auxiliary website?"

The answer is... it's not a scholarship! Illustrating America is a contest for students in grades K-8. The top three National winners in each grade category (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) are each awarded a gift card, not a scholarship, and this contest was created in 2019-2020 by the then-National Youth Activities Ambassador, therefore, information about it can be found under Youth Activities.

We admit, this can be confusing - especially because both of our art scholarships have "contest" in the name, and because the VFW's Patriot's Pen is an "annual youth essay contest," according to their description, but we report all three of those under Scholarships, along with Continuing Education and the VFW Voice of Democracy.

But it may help to remember that Illustrating America is the only one of these contests that allows kindergarten through fifth graders to enter, and, unlike their teen and tween siblings, these kiddos aren't looking all the way ahead to college yet.
