ALAS!!!
…BLENDS OF INEPTITUDE
@ Emilin: ”Anyone remembers the Magu interview with Chamberlain of ChannelsTV? Compare with the IGP’s struggle to read his speech and see the kind of illiterates we have as leaders.
: ”There’s no way the IGP will be struggling to pronounce “ transmission “ and then he turns to another page and the same word confronted him “ transmission. The whole prepared speech can’t be about transmission now.”
, ”President has no WASCE, IGP cannot read, anti corruption adviser forged WAEC, Cabinet clueless, Cronies all thieves. Citizens aloof, uniformed. What a country!”
The afore-edited are just few mumbles and reactions from Nigerians over the “Transmission” speech of the Inspector General of Police, Ahmed Idris during the commissioning of a project for the Force in Kano as captured in an over 2minutes video clip which has saturated the media like wildfire.
As impasses continue to unfold from the power house, disparagement gets the atmosphere more tensed. Alas!, the image of the Nation unspeakably depreciates in the International communities, whilst every average citizenry resort to bear these indescribable episodes of blunder committed by our stakeholders at various points of public presentation and representation. Not quite long ago it was the main man at the hems of affair at an International platform, today it is one of his Service Chiefs committing a nauseating blunder at a local stage.
No doubt our country is gradually gliding into a horrible-miasmic stance pointedly as those ‘anointed’ stakeholders have never proven themselves otherwise, but are of overt, inexcusable ineptitude and of course what I tag ‘in-deliberate incompetence’ in running the intricate task of governance especially at this delicate era.
As hearsays and deep-controversies prevail, Nigerians are reflexively invited as rational analysts to ponder most in-depth on the outlook of our poor nation.
Meanwhile, been enthused I pose these questions as follows from the vantage point; ‘What is the ‘yardstick for measure’ in selecting these individuals into such sensitive positions?’ ‘Were these persons of exalted offices duly screened before confirmation?’ ‘Is their poor public presentations not a manifestation of their non-professionalism or even incompetence?’ ‘Who can publicly vouch for their quality and competence to assume or retain such public offices?
Here, we expect the Presidency to summon the ‘anointed IGP’ (recall; his superiors were unduly retired in order to permit his appointment) for an inner-room re-examination, and to reassure Nigerians of the aptitude of their appointee, rather she had through Dabiri Erewa, a Special Aide come up to disclaim the video clip as been ‘doctored’ by the oppositions.
Secondly, the IGP whose dishonor of the Senate’s summon on several occasions have created a clear picture of his incapability to present and represent himself eloquently has never bother himself to clear the air, rather through one of his supporters had earlier claimed he was dyslexic. Also when contacted the Force Public Relations Officer, Moshood Jimoh on the ‘authenticity of the video, he simply said, “Yes we have seen it , but you can call back later.”
Shortly afterwards the PPRO Zone 2 command, Dolapo Badmus shared a picture of IG of Police with President Muhammadu Buhari, with a caption: “I am proud of my IGP, a man with two degrees.”
Whilst on the foregoing, a panel was secretly mounted to fish out and rebuke harmless bloggers who have only demonstrated their democratic right to public view and International Right to Freedom of Speech-Shameful indeed!
As the citizens continue to pour out their dismay pointedly over absurdities and irregularities in the government, they cannot afford to shy away from preparing their minds fittingly towards the upcoming Election; where all these political maggots and democracy mischief-makers will be given unanimous red card, in order to usher in the long-yawned rebirth bearers.
Let’s call to mind the axiom of Franklin D. Roosevelt:
“Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country.”
More so, Edmund Burke speaks up:
“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”
GO, GET YOUR VOTER’S CARD NOW; THE TIME TO ACT RIGHT IS RIGHT NOW!!!
