🗓️ Early Voting in Maryland runs from today, June 11 through next Thursday, June 18.

⏰ Centers are open 7 AM to 8 PM daily (including Saturday and Sunday).

💡 Missed the registration deadline? Maryland allows same-day registration during early voting. Just pull up to an early voting center in your county with a document proving where you live and ID and you can register and vote right on the spot.

Check elections.maryland.gov for specific details. Be sure to grab your people, clear your schedule for 20 minutes today, and make sure you are heard loud and clear.

History isn’t just a chapter in a textbook—it’s the foundation of the power you hold today.

Young adults: The rights that generations before you fought, bled, and marched for are now in your hands. If you think one vote doesn’t matter, think about why people risked everything just to get it. The future belongs to the generations willing to show up and claim it. We're counting on you.

“Faith without works is dead.” — James 2:26 📖✨To our pastors, ministries, and faith leaders: The Black Church has always been the moral compass and the engine for civil rights in our communities. Today, the battle for the ballot requires that same energy and leadership.

Download our new Black Church Voter Engagement Toolkit to help your congregation organize, register, and protect our collective voice ahead of the upcoming elections.

Did you know that the National School Lunch Program, passed in 1946, wasn't originally applied to all children?

🍎 It took the radical action of activists to make it a right.

In the late 1960s, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. championed food access as a fundamental human right. Meanwhile, the Black Panther Party launched their "Free Breakfast for Children Program" in 1969, forcing the government to expand federal school meal programs by 1975. ✊🏿✊🏾

Today, that legacy is at risk. ⚠️ High costs and potential SNAP cuts are threatening free meals for millions.

We must protect this resource!

🗣️ Action needed: Contact your local school district’s nutrition department to join their School Wellness Committee. Districts are required to include parents, students, and community members. Let's make sure our kids are fed.

🔴 The "Bad": The Supreme Court ruled that forced segregation didn't violate the 14th Amendment, thus creating the "separate but equal" doctrine, which was never actually equal. It legalized Jim Crow laws, allowing for inferior facilities and unequal treatment of Black Americans.
🟢 The "Better": The Supreme Court reversed course, unanimously ruling that "separate educational facilities are inherently unequal." It declared that segregation violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment, marking a monumental victory for civil rights.
✊🏾 The Brave: Today’s Supreme Court justices prefer a "colorblind" interpretation of the Constitution, which ignores the enduring effects of systemic racism and eliminates the ability to use race-conscious solutions to address historical inequality.

You can take action: support trusted public interest law firms and social justice organizations like the NAACP which can file Amicus Curiae Briefs to influence the Supreme Court’s decisions on this issue.
