This year for International Day of the Girl Child 2026, the theme is "End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls' Rights."

And at Yemeco Hopeful Foundation, we want to talk to someone we hardly talk to...

Our boys. Our brothers. Our young men.

We always tell the girl: "Be careful. Don't go here. Cover yourself. Don't talk to men."

But when do we talk to the boy?

Today, we are talking to the boy child.

Dear 18-year-old boy, that 13-year-old girl in your street is not your mate. She is your little sister. Protect her, don't pursue her.

Dear 25-year-old man, if you want to marry, marry a woman who can stand and argue with you, who can build with you, who has finished growing herself. A child cannot build a home.

Dear future husband, real men don't marry children. Real men wait. Real men support a girl to finish her school. Real men are proud to say "My wife is educated."

We cannot end child marriage if we only preach to girls. The girls are not marrying themselves.

We must teach our sons that:

Strength is not in how young your wife is, but in how strong you can make her future.

Manhood is not in marrying early, but in standing up and saying "She is too young, let her grow."

So today, at Yemeco Hopeful Foundation, we are raising a new kind of boy child:

- A boy who will defend his sister when someone calls her "ripe for marriage."

- A boy who will say "No" when his friends laugh at him for dating a girl his own age.

- A boy who will become a man that invests in a woman's dreams, not ends them.

Because if we train our girls to dream, we must also train our boys to allow them to dream.

At Yemeco Hopeful Foundation, we don't just want to say "Happy International Day of the Girl Child" and go.

We want to HEAR from YOU.

Every girl has a story. Every girl has inspired someone. Today, we want to celebrate them.

INTRODUCING:



How to participate:

Tell us in the comment section about ONE girl who inspired you.

It could be:

👩‍🎓 Your daughter or student
👩‍❤️‍👩 Your friend
Or even YOURSELF when you were a little girl.

Just write "Her name is _ she inspired me because **_*."

Example:Her name is Ada, she inspired me because even though she struggled in school, she never gave up on her dream of becoming a nurse.

October is here again, and it is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH!

This October 2026, Yemeco Hopeful Foundation led by our President and CEO, Mary Oluyemisi Ayilola, will be joining the world to sensitize, support and speak up!

We say Think Pink, Be Aware, Get Checked, Save Lives.

Breast cancer is real, but Early Detection Saves Lives.

That is why we are shouting it loud: Check Today, Live Tomorrow.

Do you know your risk?

It can be family history, your genetics, increasing age, or hormonal factors.

So what can we do?

- Check your breasts yourself regularly.

- Go for clinical breast examination.

- Do Mammogram especially if you are 40 and above.

- Live healthy, limit alcohol, avoid to***co.

- Know your family history.

Together We Can Beat Breast Cancer!

From all of us at Yemeco Hopeful Foundation, we say Happy Independence Day to our dear country!

At 66, Nigeria is not a small child anymore. We have come a long way, and we have a long way to go.

But we still believe in this country. We believe in her people. We believe that hope is not lost.

As a foundation that gives hope to the hopeless, today we pray for a Nigeria where every child will have hope, every mother will have joy, and every youth will have a reason to stay and build.
