Happy World Menstrual Hygiene Day from Yemeco Hopeful Foundation!

Today, 28th May, the world is talking about something that happens to half the population every month – menstruation.

And yes, we’re saying it out loud because it is normal, not shameful.

At Yemeco Hopeful Foundation, we believe our girls deserve to grow up knowing that their period is a sign of a healthy body, not a curse or a secret to hide.

Menstruation is normal.

Period.

Every month, a girl’s body prepares for the possibility of pregnancy.

When it doesn’t happen, the lining of the womb comes out as blood. It is natural, just like breathing or sweating.

No girl chose it, and no girl should feel dirty or embarrassed because of it.

Let us talk hygiene – because it matters
During menstruation, girls need clean water, soap, and safe sanitary pads or cloth.

Changing regularly, washing hands, and keeping clean helps prevent infections, bad smell, and discomfort.

A clean girl is a confident girl.

And a confident girl can go to school, play, and live her life without fear.
