Today, Ag Ed students and FFA Members helped clean up after the storms from this past weekend. We picked up branches and sticks from the Odell Park & the Diller Park.

Thanks to Orville Klecan of Odell and Randy Peitzmeier of Diller for letting us give back and help!

Day 3 of State Convention:

The Senior Livestock Judging team of Kaden, Peyton, Nick, and Madi competed. The judged 9 classes of livestock and gave 3 sets of reasons.

High School FFA Members not competing Friday attended the Career Fair, where they were able to connect with businesses in the agriculture industry across the state.

The Junior High Quizbowl Team of Aubrey, Logan, Preston, & Austin competed, they won their first round. After that, they attended a leadership workshop and participated in an East Campus Scavenger Hunt

At the very end of the day, FFA Members shared a chapter meal, as a way to end State FFA Convention.

Day 2 of State FFA Convention:

Libby competed in the FFA Creed Speaking LDE, and was asked about issues in agriculture.

The agronomy team of Nick, Mason, Josh & Creyton competed. They identified various plants & seeds of crops & weeds, insects, various issues/deficiencies in crops, & agricultural machinery.

The agriscience team of Libby, Creyton, Liam, & Zach competed. They took a general knowledge exam related to the agriscience class textbook, and dissected fetal pigs & perch.

Sidney interviewed & was recognized for her Proficiency Award applications of Dairy Entrepreneurship and Dairy Placement. She earned 2nd place in the state for BOTH applications.

Day 1 of State FFA Convention:

The Ag Mechanics team of Kaden, Jack, Mason, & Bentley competed with over 200 FFA Members. Topics included Small Engine Theory, Electrical Theory, reading through a manure spreader manual, and wiring up a circuit board.

The Natural Resources team of Peyton, Kaden, Jacob, and Jack competed. They had to identify species of wildlife pelts, scar, tracks, and skill of native to Nebraska.

Sidney Engelman interviewed for the Top 3 in the state for her Dairy Entrepreneurship and Placement Proficiency Awards. Results will be announced today during Session 4.

Jack, Kaden, and Jacob walked across the stage to receive their State FFA Degrees, the highest honor that Nebraska FFA can bestow. They were 3 of 948 State FFA Degree recipients.

On Wednesday, Amanda McKinney led the Agriscience class through a Fetal Pig Dissection Lab, providing the class a hands-on opportunity to explore and learn about material taught in class!

The class learned a lot and learning from a professional like Amanda is one of the most educational ways to learn! Thank you Amanda for your time and sharing your knowledge with the Agriscience Class!

Today was Drive a Tractor / Truck Day to end FFA Week! The officer team wanted to have a “theme” of open-cab tractors. It’s very unique to watch students use the same tractors that have changed & revolutionized the Ag Industry!
