🎂 Five candles. One very good boy. 🐶

On January 23, we celebrated Kobe’s 5th birthday in the main lobby at Rogers Behavioral Health in Oconomowoc, and let’s just say… it was paw-ty perfection.

🎉 47 staff members gathered
🎶 “Happy Birthday” was sung (loudly and joyfully)
🦴 Kobe enjoyed birthday treats
🧸 Two new stuffed animal friends joined the pack
💆‍♂️ Countless belly rubs and so much love

Kobe is part of Rogers’ Canine Assisted Intervention (CAI) program, where he provides one-on-one goal-based interactions with patients as a part of their treatment. From helping overcome fears to encouraging engagement, Kobe helps make hard days a little easier—and healing a little warmer.

This program is made possible entirely through the generosity of donors who believe in compassionate, whole-person mental health care. Because of them, Kobe gets to do what he does best: love, support, and show up with a wagging tail.

Happy 5th Birthday, Kobe! 🎈🐕💙

Thanks for all the joy you bring—today and every day.

Paul Schommer is an elite US Biathlon athlete, but perhaps his most important victory started with asking for help.

Paul Schommer shares in this video how, as a teenager struggling with an eating disorder, he carried shame, fear, and self-doubt in silence. When he came to Rogers Behavioral Health, he didn’t know what the future held, or if healing was even possible.

What Paul discovered was confidence, self-worth, and the understanding that his value isn’t defined by results, it’s defined by who he is.

Now, Paul is using his voice to stand up for men’s mental health and to let others know they’re not alone. “When we take ownership of what we’re struggling with, we take back control and give ourselves the best chance for a better tomorrow.”

Cheer Paul on at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, happening February 6–22, 2026. When you watch him compete, know that your support helps make journeys like his possible.

💙 Watch the video. Share his story. Stand with men’s mental health.

It takes a village to 'wrap up' something this special. 🎁

As we celebrate the success of our 12th Annual Holiday Gift Drive, we’re sending heartfelt thanks to our amazing committee members: Jenny Ellis, Laurie Wohlfiel, Thayre Faust, Taralynn McDonough, and Lynne Romens.

Because of this team and the incredible generosity of our community, 763 children, teens, and adults at Rogers Behavioral Health's Wisconsin locations received holiday gifts.

One member of our treatment team shared: “Residents were actually tearful because they were totally not expecting the gifts and loved what they got.”

Nearly 20 corporate, civic, and school partners hosted gift drives, with countless additional gifts coming from individuals through our Amazon and Faith Factory lists. The most popular items? Fuzzy slippers and socks, gift cards, mindfulness coloring books, and fidgets—simple comforts that made a big difference.

One resident stated, "I felt seen, remembered, and cared for this holiday season! Thank you!" That’s the kind of impact that stays with someone long after the wrapping paper is gone.

We’re honored to receive a grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation (Packers Outreach) in support of our Strength Over Addiction Recovery (SOAR) program.

SOAR is a free community program offered by Rogers Behavioral Health that reaches children ages 6–15 who are living with the impact of addiction in their families. Through education, connection, and practical coping tools, SOAR helps reduce isolation, strengthen resilience, and interrupt cycles of trauma before crisis takes hold.

We’re deeply grateful for the Green Bay Packers Foundation's commitment to strengthening families and advancing mental health in our communities!

SOAR is currently being held at Rogers locations in Oconomowoc, Brown Deer, and West Allis, Wisconsin. Coming soon to Green Bay! Program information and sign-up here: https://rogersbh.org/events/strength-over-addiction-recovery-soar-workshop/
