Because it matters:

If you are following this page, you should be aware of my sentiments regarding our Veterans and first responders, so I am bringing it up. For those who struggle, please know you are not alone and there is help.
Twenty-two Veterans succumb to their struggles daily, that doesn't include our first responders. May I request that you share this post and the information below to help those who need it?

🔥 WLFD Explorer Post Fundraiser 🔥

Join me and my family in supporting the local Explorer post as they continue their efforts to fundraise to help clean up the National First Responder Memorial. These young people are already devoting time to the community and people in need-which is impressive! Stop by for a beer, wings, or dinner!

Thank you Cornerstone and the Sutner Family for their help setting this up!

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Please make time to attend this awareness and resource program, this Sunday at Smoke on the Water in Okauchee from 2pm - 3:30pm.

Human Trafficking is not just a national issue that occurs in other states or far away countries. Every County of our great state has had Human Trafficking cases and Lake Country is in the middle of one of the highest human trafficking highways in the country, the I-94 corridor between Chicago and Minneapolis.

Learn what forms of human trafficking occur, how to identify it, why it's difficult to address, what you can do to help, and a variety of resource tables to take information home with you.

This is a free community event. They do ask that you register so they can prepare accordingly.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month

Human trafficking is not just an international issue. It happens here in Wisconsin and in communities like ours. Every county in the state has seen trafficking-related offenses, and the I-94 corridor between Chicago and Minneapolis is one of the highest traffic areas in the country.

To help raise awareness and provide education, we encourage the public to attend a community
Human Trafficking Awareness Event:
📍 Smoke on the Water – Okauchee, WI
📅 January 18, 2026
⏰ 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

The event will cover what human trafficking looks like, how to recognize the signs, available resources, and current efforts to combat trafficking locally and statewide.

🎤 Keynote Speaker: Jamie Counsell, forensic nurse examiner and recent TEDx speaker
🎤 Special Guest Speaker: Rep. Barbara Dittrich, member of the Speaker’s Task Force on Human Trafficking

The event is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome and will support local resources assisting victims of human trafficking. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, attendees under 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Creating awareness is a critical step in protecting our community.
