We just got back from the American Conference of Cantors-Guild of Temple Musicians convention in Cleveland (including a rockin' evening at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). So good to see so many dear friends and colleagues, learn from their experiences, and be inspired by their gifts.
We are also thrilled to report that the future is bright for music and songleading in the Reform Movement. Students and recent graduates of the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music at Hebrew Union College pointed the way toward new ways of thinking and worshipping that will serve the community well in the coming years. Let's continue to lift them up!
We especially loved the celebration of Shireinu Volume 2 from Transcontinental Music Publications - JLicense.com spotlighting the value of camps, songleading, and the blurring of lines between camp and congregational communal song!
We were also happy to spend time with Rose B Snitz, who was so instrumental in the founding of this organization and the revitalization of Hava Nashira. As one of the co-chairs of the convention, her skill at creative programming, showcasing others’ gifts, and of course, “making the trains run on time" was evident and so appreciated.
