This past Thursday the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce honored Laura Lisi, Citizen of the Year, and The H Academy, Business of the Year, for their continued support and dedication to the Oceanside Community. It was an event filled with small businesses, local organizations, loving family members and friends, and residents of the Oceanside Community.

Thank you to Kombert Caterers for their incredible hospitality, Jeremy L. Vandow for these outstanding pictures, Five Star Events for the fun photo booth, David Rosenfeld Magic & Mentalism for wowing everyone who walked through the door, Maria's Touch Events, LLC for the amazing 100 and balloons, and Shane Courtenay for the live music!

A huge thank you, as always, to all who placed ads in our journal and graciously dontated raffle baskets! This event would not be what it is without each and every one of you!

Tomorrow evening we have the privilege of honoring these 3 women: Laura Lisi, Citizen of the Year, and Brittany Humes & Arielle Hamill, Business of the Year at our centennial celebration!

They are the definition of leadership, community, and excellence and we are proud that they call Oceanside home 💙🤍⚓️

Did you know… the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce was born out of controversy?

In the 1920s, Oceanside was facing major decisions — from fighting a proposed incinerator plan that excluded local voters, to heated debates over schools, taxes, and even whether the community should incorporate as a village.

Local business leaders recognized something important: Oceanside needed a united voice.

So they formed the Oceanside Business Men’s Association — created “to bring about better conditions in the community” and to protect the interests of local businesses and residents.

That organization later became the Oceanside Board of Trade… and eventually the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce.

For 100 years, the mission has remained the same:
✔️ Advocate for local businesses
✔️ Support smart growth
✔️ Strengthen community pride

One century later, that organized voice is still working for Oceanside.

Oceanside Middle School celebrated Team Spirit Day today, with the theme of Community Heroes! Team 8-1 re-created our very own Oceanside Lighthouse! Excellent job all around! Thank you for thinking about our very own Oceanside heroes, we are appreciative of them everyday! 💙🤍⚓️

T-6️⃣ days until our annual Lights on the Green 🎄 event beginning at 5:00pm! 🕔

We are kicking off the event with a performance by The H Academy 🎶, caroling with the OMS Swing Choir 🎵, a guest appearance by Santa 🎅 via one of our very own Oceanside Fire trucks 🚒 , and MORE! A festive community event for the whole family!! ❤️💚 We can’t wait to see YOU there!
