5K AIDS Cancer Run/Walk, Baldwin Park The Richard M. Brodsky Foundation was established in 2004 by me, Richard Brodsky.

I was diagnosed HIV-positive in 2004, diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2002 and given 2 -4 years to live, and I'm still running marathons The Foundation focuses on helping people, especially children living with HIV or cancer, both in Africa and America. As a marathon runner, it gives me great joy that I an able to raise money to help the orphans in Kenya by sponsoring the World AIDS Marath

on in Kisumu, Kenya every year on World AIDS Day. The Event is even more meaningful as the local Kisumu World AIDS Marathon Group and President Obama's grandmother is involved with the World AIDS Marathon. In addition, the Foundation has sponsored 18 orphan dinner dances for 6,250 Kenyan orphans and has provided medical care for 691 Kenyan orphans and saved the lives of 230 Kenyan orphans. We have two advantages over Doctors Without Borders: 1) the doctors get to dine and dance with the orphans at he festive orphan dinner dances and 2) they get to run with the Kenyans on World AIDS Day in a marathon, half marathon or 5K relay.
