⚠️ MEDICAL UPDATES: We wanted to give everyone an update on the many medical cases currently in our care and the costs we are still trying to raise to help them. Right now, we are carrying an overwhelming number of medical kittens, and while we are so grateful they’re alive and healing, the financial side has been incredibly heavy. Each photo in this post highlights a different kitten currently fighting their own battle and the upcoming costs we will face to save them.
Photo 1: Shimmer
Shimmer, our little girl with the severely damaged eye is continuing to grow, gain strength, and improve every day while she awaits surgery. She’s become brighter, healthier, and more comfortable since entering our care. Her eye surgery is estimated to cost around $1,500.
Photo 2: Hara & Ashi
Hara and Ashi are both doing amazingly well and healing beautifully from their surgeries. They continue to grow stronger every day, and we are so proud of how far they’ve come. It still blows my mind they’ve both survived surgery before their eyes even opened. They are so resilient. Ashi will still need one final surgery once she’s a little older to complete her amputation journey. That surgery is expected to cost around $1,500.
Photo 3: Meep
Sweet little Meep, the orange kitten many of you saw struggling to breathe in our video, is doing wonderfully. We had such a shocking amount of weird comments on his original post I had to limit the comments. One lady was convinced we were not a legit rescue and apparently reported us for fraud. Thankfully, he has had no additional breathing issues and continues to thrive in foster care. We are so relieved to see him acting like a happy, healthy baby.
Photo 4: Troy
Troy has received devastating news. He is currently in stage 4 acute renal disease, and we are all heartbroken and shocked by how suddenly this happened. Because he is otherwise young and healthy, we are holding onto hope that his kidneys may recover with time and supportive care. His adoption unfortunately fell through as a result of this, and he will remain in our care while we determine whether he can recover or if we will instead be providing hospice support. We are still $500 short on covering his past medical visit, and he will need labwork again on Monday which will be an additional $300.
Photo 5: Tuna
Tuna is scheduled for surgery this Friday. After further review of his case, our veterinarian became increasingly concerned that waiting any longer could put him at greater risk. The decision was made to move forward sooner so the mass causing his urinary issues can be removed and finally give him relief. We need to raise at least $2,500 for Tuna’s current bill and upcoming surgery.
We refuse to give up on these kittens. Outside of their current medical concerns they all have the ability to recover and live wonderfully, full live. We won’t give up but we need your help to see them through.
