The College Blvd. Bridge remains closed, and students and families continue living with the consequences.

Students are navigating unsafe routes to school. Families have raised concerns. Youth using e bikes have encountered police enforcement while trying to get to class. Meanwhile, students still need a safe way to get to school every day.

HRCO is bringing students, families, neighbors, and community together to share what we know, hear directly from those most impacted, and decide what comes next.

We have also publicly invited the Mayor of Oceanside, OUSD Superintendent, and the principals and vice principals of Senda Middle School and El Camino High School to attend, listen, answer community questions, and come prepared with solutions.

Students and families should not have to carry the consequences of institutional inaction.

OPEN THE BRIDGE!
THIS ISSUE DOES MATTER MOST Oceanside Police Department

It’s the third week of school and students are receiving “warnings” as they try to get to school because the bridge that was supposed to be done months ago is still not done!?!?!
Now our students are facing safety issues while they try to get to school and walk in their community.

Instead of giving warnings and harassing students OPEN THE BRIDGE Oceanside Police Department Oceanside

It is the third week of school in Oceanside, and the College Blvd. Bridge remains closed.

While institutions continue deciding who is responsible and what happens next, students are already living with the consequences.

We are sharing this testimony from one of the young people directly impacted by these conditions because their experience belongs in the conversation about what safety looks like and what needs to happen next.

Open the bridge. Our students need a safe route to school now.
