I learned some much about this work and life itself just by showing up at this place. It really put everything in perspective on what successful outreach looks like and what can happen when you do good work.

I learned about what happens when altruism is rooted on the foundation of the people. Which is the work will support itself. It always works out. Some how.

I just started showing up here because I had something to offer and it was needed. I definitely miss this place and the people I built relationships with.

Definitely miss my family.

Navigating OUD can be difficult and the reality is that not everyone can take time off to attend inpatient. Also, in rural areas it can be incredibly difficult to access a clinic.

I remember having friends who drove 5 hours to Georgia 5-6 days a week just to go to the clinic and in rural areas we still see this happening.

Thankfully things have changed and we have tele-health services like Ophelia who offer quick compassionate care from the privacy of your home.

This would’ve allowed my friends to still be alive. It would’ve enabled their parents to not bury them before their time. It would’ve enabled a little less heart break.

The whole enabling argument baffles me It’s not enabling if they’re going to use regardless. Which, if you’re in chaotic use; you’re going to.
