Thank you everyone who came to the meeting for the Oceanside Neighborhood Watch! We have your contact info and will be reaching out shortly with area contacts, flyers to spread the word, and info on plaques or signs to display. For anyone who missed it you are always welcome to reach out for information. As this is being done in coordination with the police department we were joined by the Inspector and Officers of the precinct who provided good insight and discussed issues prevalent to our area. The first meeting was a success!

POLICE ALERT: ILLEGAL FIREWORKS

šŸŽ†: Fireworks are illegal in New York State and can cause serious physical injury. We don’t make the laws, but it is our job to enforce them.
ā˜Žļø: If you know someone participating in the purchase, sale, or use of illegal fireworks, please contact your local Police Precinct.
🚨: Fireworks can cause serious pain and trauma to Veterans, those with sensory challenges, and pets.
šŸŽ‰: Celebrate responsibly. If you see something dangerous or unsafe, call 911 immediately.

Keep Oceanside safe and quiet! Say NO to fireworks!

As the Independence Day holiday weekend approaches, the Town of Hempstead reminds residents that illegal fireworks are detrimental to the health and safety of community members.

Have a safe, happy and healthy 4th of July celebration - say "no" to illegal fireworks.

The speeding and loud car noises all over town is a big concern, especially on the main roads. We have been reaching out to officials trying to get help, we need a solid plan to get this in control. In the meantime, please be aware of your own speed and be safe.

We had a good call last night about the Neighborhood watch, this could be very successful but participation is key to making this work. Please reach out if you are interested and haven’t yet, we need people from all areas of our town. Thank you!

We are moving forward with forming the Neighborhood Watch and want you to be a part of this. We need many people involved for this to be successful. We are having a quick zoom call tomorrow night 7:15 pm, please let us know if you are interested and will send you the zoom info. Or if you are interested but cant be on the call that’s ok also, please reach out. Thanks!

We would like to move forward in forming the Neighborhood Watch. Everyone that has reached out with interest will be contacted shortly to discuss the next steps. We encourage everyone to get involved, just send a message with any questions or to become a part, get to know the people in your community.

As a participant, all that is expected is to be aware of suspicious activity on your block/area and to report this activity. Basically, if you see something you say something. You should observe and report the issue, never confront anyone. Depending on what and how serious it is, you will either call 911 or report it to a member in your area designated as ā€˜Block Captain’.

You can also become more involved by being a ā€˜Block Captain’ - someone who will help to organize and receive information on your block/area and recruit neighbors to join.

We will also need volunteers to help in other ways- organizing members, monitoring and posting on the site, welcoming new neighbors, etc.

We encourage everyone to get involved!
