The Champ's Corner - The Alexander Muñoz Memorial Fund

The Champ's Corner - The Alexander Muñoz Memorial Fund Alex, nicknamed "Champ," was 16 years old when he died from brain cancer. Alex died on 11/11/2014, 19 months after his diagnosis.

Alex Muñoz, whose nickname is "Champ," was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a grade four malignant brain tumor, when he was 15. After brain surgery which removed the entire tumor, six weeks of proton radiation to the brain and spine, and over a year of aggressive chemotherapy, Alex only had one chemo treatment left. One week before his last chemo, a routinely scheduled MRI revealed a recurrence of

his cancer in his spine. After his doctors told him there was nothing else that they could do for him, he expressed his wish for us to help teens in the hospital who are fighting cancer. He was selfless, brave, and kind throughout every grueling treatment. This page is dedicated to the memory of our Champ, an inspirational son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. Alex, we love you forever sweetheart. We will carry your heart in our hearts for all of time...
