D-Day Ceremony

When: Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m.
Where: The Fort Miles Museum event venue overlooking the Atlantic Ocean
This solemn commemoration will include:
• Tolling of the bell for each of the 40 Delawareans who died during the Battle of Normandy
• Honor Guard from VFW Mason Dixon Post 7234
• WWII Tunes by Bagpiper Lani Spahr
• Display of Chaplain’s Kit that went ashore on D-Day
• Tribute to U.S, Army BG Theodore Roosevelt, Jr.

Before last night's meeting the Post and Auxiliary had a special guest: Jonathan Kohr (Scout from Troop 281) to Say THANK YOU for the monetary donation to help with his Eagle Scout Project. He thanked Commander Chad Myers and Post /Auxiliary President Kevin Conlon and Auxiliary.

It was an honor to have the BSA Troop 281invite Auxiliary Sr. Vice President Dale Weese and Auxiliary Youth Chair Cindy Weese to the ceremony: Court of Honor. Awards were given to the Leaders and some Scouts for their involvement with the Post and the Auxiliary. Cindy presented to the Leaders (2 )VFW of US Auxiliary Awards signed by the Auxiliary National President Lois Callahan for Youth Activity Participation and Americanism Participation Citation 2025-2026. The motto: "From Sea to Shining Sea Honoring Veterans who keep us Free".
11 Scouts received VFW Auxiliary Patriotic Youth Award for their actions and deeds with our Post, Veterans and within the community.
