It is with a heavy heart that we have to post that we had to help our sweet Silver Bear cross the rainbow bridge yesterday... he was in so much pain...😭😭😭😭 We tried everything we could do for this sweet baby but no surgery was going to fix him. Our rescue had him for his last 10 weeks and he was loved by so many (how could you resist that sweet face and those ears).. thanks to all his foster mommas (Yvonne, Randi and Casey) for taking such good care of this sweet boy. Thanks to Dr. Beasley and all the staff at MSU Speciality Center in Starkville and Dr. Byrd and all the staff at MSU Animal Rehabilitation Center in Flowood for taking such excellent care of him. Silver is going back to MSU speciality center in Starkville tomorrow for another CT scan. He has been doing great in therapy for the last 5 weeks but recently hit a growth spurt which is causing a set back with his therapy. Huge thanks to Casey Broom and all the folks at the therapy center for taking care of him. We will have another CT scan done and see what our options are at this point. Please pray that we get some good news for him. He is such a sweet boy and deserves a good life.

This is Silver's buddy at his current foster home. They are always together.

Silver bear. After 4 weeks of extensive therapy is remaining upright for the majority of the time. We will need another 3 weeks of therapy before he returns to the specialists at MSU for another CT scan to see if there is any surgical procedure available for him. We are praying for corrective surgery to help him even more. We are still $1800.00 behind to finish his therapy in Flowood MS. If you can help please donate to our website at fjcasp.com. Silver Bear is enjoying his visit in south Mississippi and got to play with some of his old friends. He is getting so much bigger and stronger and stays upright 90% of the time. He wears out and he found the nearest crate and retired himself to it. What a lovely boy and we can not wait to see more progress as the weeks pass. FJCASP.com

Silver just finished his 3rd week of therapy and is doing well. Slowly improving with this range of motion and flexion. Still has another 3 weeks of therapy and then we will do another CT scan and go from there! 🐶🐶🐶

We just got word Randi is going to pick him up Friday and bring him home for the weekend. We’re so excited to see him!

Silver Bear's story starts with seeing his video and knowing we had to do something. It is not uncommon to pull animals from the shelter with leg injuries, broken bones, or many other things that need immediate vet attention. Silver's story is a little more heartbreaking to his rescuers....Silver was surrendered to JCAS by a disabled man who said he bought him from the breeder in this condition. But as Silver grew he know that he was incapable for caring for him. Maridee at the shelter sent his first foster mom his video and it was love at first sight....Plus she needed a puppy to help a mom she pulled that was abandoned with no puppies and there is when the magic started happening. His first xrays revealed a broken back and we were devastated but watched this fighter try his best to make it to point A to point B with a wagging tail, feeling in his back feet and a sassiness that is undeniably the cutest thing you could ever see. Soon one of our other voulunteers decided to help and become his second foster mom and help further his recovery and then came his 3rd foster mom...

Casey is one of the therapists that is working with him now in Flowood. She is helping FJCASP save pennies by taking care of him while he is there and getting round the clock help as our baby boy gets even better. We are just getting this page up and forgive us if we leave holes in his story and we should be catching up soon!

In the meantime our vet bills have already exceeded 2500.00 and because os Silver's fans half of that has already been covered. He still has a long way to go, and hopefully a corrective surgery with the specialists at MSU and we need all the help we can get. His vet bills can far exceed 5000.00 by the time it all over with...and Silver will be running to all of his foster moms and angels in no time.
