Ocean Shores Food Bank Slow Cooker Drive

A recent Grays Harbor County survey of food bank guests, including many who visit the Ocean Shores Food Bank, revealed something important: families often need more than food to feel food-secure. Many respondents said that having basic kitchen equipment would help them prepare healthy, affordable meals at home.

In response, the Ocean Shores Food Bank is launching a Slow Cooker Giveaway this fall.

Some of you may remember a similar effort several years ago when we distributed 93 slow cookers to local families. The response was overwhelming. Guests were delighted to receive a simple appliance that could make cooking easier, more economical, and less stressful.

A slow cooker is much more than a convenience. It helps families stretch ingredients, prepare nutritious meals, save time, and reduce food costs. For many households, it can make a meaningful difference in their ability to put healthy meals on the table.

How the Program Works
• Food bank guests will complete entry forms throughout November.
• Winners will be selected in drawings held in early December.
• Slow cookers will be distributed on December 10 and December 17.

How You Can Help
We are reaching out to Ocean Shores churches and community members to help make this program a success. If you, your family, your business, or your congregation would like to donate a new slow cooker, your gift will directly benefit a local family.

Every donated slow cooker represents an investment in a household's ability to prepare healthy, affordable meals for months and years to come.

Please help spread the word and encourage others to participate. Together, we can provide not only food, but also the tools families need to make the most of it.

Scrapbooking Event Helps Feed Ocean Shores Families

Those attending this October’s Creative Memories Scrapbooking event (a.k.a. Croptoberfest) did more than preserve memories. They also raised both food and funds for the Ocean Shores Food Bank.

This year’s contributions came at a crucial time, helping us bolster our shelves as we head into the busy holiday season. The donations gathered through Croptoberfest directly support families across Ocean Shores and the North Beach, ensuring that more neighbors have reliable access to nutritious food when they need it most.
