Amenities include a beachfront restaurant in Ocean City, and a public Yacht Club in Ocean Pines. There are also five pools, two marinas, a premier racquet sports complex, and a Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed championship golf course. The Association also boasts a robust Recreation and Parks Department, and the community has more than a dozen parks and four miles of walking and biking trails. Originally established in 1968, today the community has 8,452 platted lots and is home to 12,000 full-time residents and 8,000 part-time residents and guests. 15th annual Pink Lady Unity and Courage Golf Tournament a success

(October 14, 2026) A sea of Pink took over the Ocean Pines Golf Course on Wednesday, October 7, for the 15th annual Ocean Pines Ladies Golf Association Pink Lady Unity and Courage Golf Tournament.

This year’s Platinum Sponsor was Bob Ciprietti/Touch of Italy, and reporters Ronnell Foreman and Julia Green from WMDT covered the event. Sunny Dawn also provided music.

Several special guests from TidalHealth were also in attendance, including VP of Patient Care Mandy Bounds, Director Brooke Williams, and Event Coordinator Laura Powell.

The winners of the tournament are as follows:

OPLGA would also like to thank the Touch of Italy Clubhouse staff for their excellent service and support, as well as providing delicious food and beverages.

(October 14, 2026) Join the Ocean Pines Golf Club for its inaugural Black Friday Birdie Bash on Friday, November 27.

The tournament will feature a four-person scramble format with a 9 a.m. sh***un start. Men's, women's, and mixed team divisions will be available.

Participants will have the chance to win door prizes and compete in Closest to the Pin Contests on every par 3. Tournament prizes will be awarded in the form of Pro Shop and Touch of Italy gift cards.

Registration is $50 for members and $80 for non-members and includes range balls, golf with cart, food following the round, and entry into the prize pools.

In addition to the tournament, the Pro Shop will host its biggest sale of the year, with special deals available before, during, and after play. Shoppers can also browse ready-to-give gift bundles perfect for the golfer on their holiday shopping list.

Worcester Preparatory School 5th graders visited the Worcester County Veterans Memorial this morning for their annual field trip! 🇺🇸

Students had the opportunity to learn about the history of the American flag and proper flag-folding techniques, the different branches of the U.S. military, and much more. Students also walked the Patriots Pathway to view individual plaques and learn about significant American conflicts.

Members of the U.S. Coast Guard, Stephen Decatur High School JROTC cadets, Maryland State Senator Mary Beth Carozza, who served as a docent, and several local veterans, docents, and volunteers participated in this morning's program.

Students also hand painted rocks honoring those who served, which will be placed around the Memorial.

Worcester County Veterans Memorial Foundation Board members Don McMullen, Suzie Pantone, and Michelle Winemiller help organize and lead several educational field trips throughout the year, supporting the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and teaching younger generations about the importance of honoring our veterans.

The following is a press release from the Quilters by the Sea Guild of Ocean Pines Maryland:

(October 13, 2026) Quilters by the Sea Guild will host its 2026 Star-Spangled Quilt Show Friday, October 16, from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ocean Pines Community Center, 235 Ocean Parkway in Ocean Pines, MD.

More than 100 quilts, and other stitched projects, will be on display. The “best of show” quilt will be voted on by you, the attendees. Admission is free for visitors of all ages.

Quilts and projects on display are made by members of the guild. There will also be a boutique, raffle baskets, a raffle quilt, and a special display of over 21 Singer Featherweight sewing machines and accessories. The boutique proceeds go toward our education and community service projects.

Founded in 1985, the ~100-member 501c3 guild’s purpose is to:

Promote and contribute to the appreciation and knowledge of quilting including techniques, general sewing, fabrics, textiles, patterns, and tools.
Sponsor and promote quilting activities.
Encourage quilt making and collecting.
QBS members also use their skills to contribute to the community and those in need. We make and donate quilts, seatbelt pillows, clothing protectors, placemats, and more to local charities.

This show puts our members’ last two years of work on display for all to see. As a thank you for the ongoing community support, admission is free.

Pickleball tournament raises more than $ 24,000 for breast cancer research

The following is a press release from the Ocean Pines Pickleball Club:

(October 12, 2026) The Ocean Pines Pickleball Club thanks participants of the recent Pink Ribbon Pickleball Round Robin cancer fundraiser held at the Ocean Pines Sports complex on October 9, 2026.

The event helped raise more than $24,000 for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. The campaign raises funds for lifesaving research, and supports individuals with essential programs and services.

In total ,128 players competed and won medals for their efforts. The event featured over three dozen volunteers, 26 sponsors, more than 80 donors, 21 baskets for table auction and raffle, 3 online auction JOOLA sponsored paddle baskets, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. JOOLA- USA continues to be a generous donor of pickleball equipment to “FIND THE CURE”.

Event organizer, Becky Colt-Ferguson called the tournament “an exciting ninth year of fundraising, pink fun. This round robin event is a celebration that allows participants an opportunity for healthy activity while supporting a time-honored fundraising cause. Players, volunteers, and donors should be extremely proud of our record-breaking final fundraising number. The round robin continues to offer a memorable experience for friends, individuals, and families to honor individuals past and present who battle breast cancer.

Next year, we look forward to improving our player and donor experiences with improved registration, expanded substitute list inclusive of level of play. We invite our eastern shore neighbors to come out and support us on October 8, 2027 at 10 a.m. You never know, you just might win the 50/50! It only takes one ticket to win!

(October 12, 2026) Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Thanksgiving buffet at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club on Thursday, November 26.

This year’s menu features Roasted Turkey and Honey Glazed Ham, along with Penne Vodka with Shrimp, Mashed Potatoes with Turkey Gravy, Sweet Potato Casserole, Cranberry Apple Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Pumpkin Pie, and much more.

Downstairs seatings will be at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with upstairs seatings at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Tickets are $44.95 for adults and $22.95 for children ages 12 and under, plus tax and gratuity. Children under 3 eat free. Soft drinks are included in the ticket price.

Pine’eer Craft Club names Sharon Cooper as October Crafter of the Month

(October 12, 2026) The Pine’eer Craft Club has named Sharon Cooper as the October Crafter of the Month.

Sharon has been an Ocean Pines resident for more than 20 years. After spending several years creating jewelry for the Ocean City Marlin Club, she was encouraged by a neighbor and friend to join the Pine’eer Craft Club.

While Sharon enjoys creating a variety of handcrafted items, her specialty is Russian Spiral Bracelets, which are hand-beaded using as many as 500 beads.

“I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with our wonderful crafters who have made our shop so successful!” said Sharon.

Sharon’s handmade items are available at the Pine’eer Craft Club Artisan Gift Shop, located in White Horse Park in Ocean Pines. The shop is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Founded more than 50 years ago, the Pine’eer Craft Club has donated over $201,000 to the Ocean Pines community. The club welcomes new members and meets on the third Thursday of each month.
