Peninsula Poverty Response Through advocacy, awareness and action, we will reduce the consequences related to poverty on the Long Beach Peninsula. https://smile.amazon.com/

The Peninsula Poverty Response (PPR) team was formed in March 2012. Since that time, PPR has built a team of more than 70 community members representing social service agencies, local businesses, non-profit organizations, school leadership, and more. Peninsula Poverty Response seeks to reduce the consequences related to poverty on the Long Beach Peninsula by:

1. Raising awareness of the needs of

people living in poverty in the community.
2. Increasing access to and utilization of existing resources.

For some of our neighbors, a tent, vehicle, or makeshift shelter is the only place they have to sleep at night. While these situations are often hidden from view, the need is very real right here on the Long Beach Peninsula.

Through The Hub, Peninsula Poverty Response helps connect individuals and families experiencing homelessness with essential supplies, resources, referrals, and support. From hygiene items and food assistance to resource navigation and community connections, we're working to help people move toward greater stability and hope.

Most of us don't think twice about doing laundry. But for many families and individuals on the Long Beach Peninsula, the cost of clean clothes and bedding can be a real hardship.

That’s why Laundry Love exists. Since 2019, Peninsula Poverty Response has provided free laundry services to approximately 30 guests each week, offering more than clean clothes—it offers dignity, confidence, and care. The program is made possible entirely through donations and community support.

The Hub is Peninsula Poverty Response's mobile outreach program, connecting community members with essential resources such as food assistance, fuel and bus passes, public health services, rental assistance, and supplies for those experiencing homelessness. It's designed to meet people where they are and help them take the next step forward.
