. Matthew 25: 35-40 NIV
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. 37 the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothed you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go visit you? 40 " The King will reply", 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

✨Volunteer Spotlight✨

This month, we’re honored to shine a light on one of the compassionate hearts behind the
Brunswick County Homeless Coalition, Bobby Brown. (pictured below)

Bobby’s journey with the coalition began through an unexpected connection while volunteering
at Lord’s Miracle Acre harvesting collards. There, he met one of our founders, Rita, who invited him to attend one of the coalition’s soup outreach events. That simple invitation became
the beginning of a meaningful ministry of serving neighbors in need.

Today, Bobby faithfully serves as one of our call-takers, answering calls from individuals and
families seeking assistance. Whether connecting someone with available resources, offering
financial assistance when possible, or simply taking time to pray with and for those who call,
he is often one of the first voices of hope someone hears during a difficult season.

When asked what inspired him to serve, Bobby’s answer is simple and powerful: his faith.
Believing that Jesus Christ calls His followers to serve others, he has embraced this season of
life after retirement as an opportunity to give his time to helping those in need.

Bobby stated that one of the most meaningful parts of volunteering has been the privilege of
speaking with people facing incredibly difficult circumstances and having the opportunity to offer practical help, encouragement, and prayer. Those moments are a reminder that sometimes
hope begins with someone simply by answering the phone and caring enough to listen.

For anyone considering volunteering, Bobby encourages you to take that first step. Serving as
a call-taker is a meaningful way to show compassion and make an immediate difference in
someone’s life. While it does require a commitment of time, the opportunity to serve others in such a personal way is incredibly rewarding.

We are deeply grateful for volunteers like Bobby whose faith, compassion, and willingness to
serve make a lasting impact in our community. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus
and for helping bring hope to those who need it most!❤️
