Created by Diakonia’s Crisis Specialist and Peer Support Specialist Jessica Collins, 'Reclaim Your Power' will feature inspiring speakers, empowering workshops, resources, connection, and a supportive community for women on their recovery journey.

We’re excited to welcome Debbie Rossi, Help and Outreach Point of Entry Coordinator and Recovery Advocate, as our main guest speaker!

This event was made possible through a generous $5,000 grant from The Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore. 💙

RECLAIM YOUR POWER. 💙 Diakonia's Rapid Response Team and Mobile Outreach Team were honored to attend the 15th Annual Women's Fund Grant Reception, where we proudly accepted a $5,000 grant award from the Women's Fund of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore in support of our upcoming initiative, Reclaim Your Power: A Women's Empowerment Retreat in Recovery.

This funding will help create a safe, supportive, and empowering space where women in recovery can connect, build confidence, access resources, and continue their journeys toward healing and personal growth.

The initiative was created by Jessica Collins, Diakonia's Crisis Specialist and Peer Support Specialist, whose passion for helping others inspired the vision behind Reclaim Your Power.

We are deeply grateful to the Women's Fund and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore for investing in opportunities that uplift and empower women throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this important work. We look forward to bringing Reclaim Your Power to life this Fall and creating meaningful opportunities for hope, healing, and transformation. 💙

HELP US SPREAD THE WORD! 💙 Diakonia is partnering with the Maryland Food Bank and the Atlantic Club for a FREE FOOD Share & Community Resources event on Thursday, June 18, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Atlantic Club, 11827 Ocean Gateway, Ocean City, MD.

Whether someone needs FREE FRESH FOOD, information about local resources, or simply a reminder that their community cares, this event is here to help. Families, individuals, and Veterans are ALL welcome!!

We would sincerely like to thank Debra Messick Rossi and Meagan Donophan for allowing us to be a part of her wonderful resource fair today!

The weather was beautiful, the resources were incredible, and the turnout was amazing. What a wonderful event to be a part of!

Today, our Rapid Response Team / Diakonia INC. was proud to provide Narcan distribution and training, shelter resources, and many additional supportive resources for those in need. We were also excited to hand out lots of free goodies from a previous donation.

Thank you again to Deb, the staff, and all the volunteers of HOPE Help and Outreach Point of Entry for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of such a special day. We truly appreciate all that you do for the community and cannot wait to do this all again soon!

Neighbors can stop by for fresh food and connect with organizations offering health information, recovery and peer support resources, reentry services, legal information, and SNAP sign-up assistance.
