This important information is worth repeating.

Here's how to vote by absentee ballot. If you go to City Hall, you can vote early, before election day.

All registered voters in Ocean City can vote in the special election on Tuesday, July 22, at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 41st Street bayside, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you will be out of town on July 22, or if you’d like to vote in advance, you have two options:

OPTION 1: BY MAIL

You can request an application for an absentee ballot by visiting City Hall in person or by calling the City Clerk’s office in City Hall at 410-289-8824, or you can download the application here: https://oceancitymd.gov/oc/departments/city-clerk/2025-ocean-city-municipal-special-election/

Fill out the application and mail it to the City Clerk’s office at P.O. Box 158, Ocean City, MD 21843, or take it to City Hall, 301 North Baltimore Avenue.

The ballot will be mailed to you.

After you fill out the ballot, return it by mail in the provided self-addressed, stamped envelope, or you can return it in person inside City Hall or place it in the white mailbox in front of City Hall.

Your ballot must be received at the City Clerk’s office by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, so please allow ample time if by mail.

If you do not receive your ballot by mail by July 17, call the City Clerk’s office at 410-289-8824.

OPTION 2: VISIT CITY HALL

If you prefer, you can go to City Hall to request an application and then fill it out while you’re there. You will then be handed a ballot. Fill that out and turn it in. All in one visit to City Hall!

When visiting City Hall in person, you will be asked for ID.

If you have questions, call the City Clerk’s office at 410-289-8824.

In March, Mayor Rick Meehan explained how Ordinance 2025-04 applies ONLY to single-family residential and mobile home districts. It's worth watching the explanation again. Please vote FOR Question A on July 22 at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center.

Happy Fourth of July! Take a look at Mayor Rick Meehan's video from today's annual Independence Day parade -- a traditional hometown event that celebrates the holiday in a family-oriented, residential area. Please come out and vote FOR Question A on July 22!
