We are incredibly relieved and grateful that no one was injured as the home next door to Windswept was lost to a fire this afternoon.

We want to extend our deepest, most heartfelt thanks to the many fire departments and first responders who worked tirelessly for hours to contain the fire and protect the surrounding homes—including ours. It was truly remarkable to witness so many people come together, every able-bodied person doing whatever they could to help.

With immense gratitude to OBFD and OBFD EMS, OBPD, OBPFD, POWFD, FHFD, Bay Shore Fire Department, Suffolk, Marine, and East Islip on the bay—you showed up in full force for our community, and we are so thankful.

We are also so touched by the outpouring of messages, calls, and support from so many of you checking in on OBYG. It means more than you know.

Our hearts are with our neighbors who lost their home today. Ocean Beach showed what community truly looks like.

While our building has physically grown into the one in the 4th image, we are proud to have stayed true to the values and traditions we all know and remember. 🫶🏼

Our 8-week camp season runs from Monday, June 29 through Friday, August 21, 2026, and we are hiring for all positions. We are also specifically seeking:

🏊‍♂️ A qualified candidate to lead our swim instruction program, helping children build confidence and strong water safety skills

🌿 A passionate educator to help revive and lead our ecology program, celebrating local ecosystems, marine life, and sustainable living
