Three children are still waiting for their Jabali sponsor, Joy, Bradox, and Blessing!
As we head into a new year at Jabali, I want to share an important update with our village.
Beginning in January, monthly sponsorship will adjust from $30 to $35. This is the first increase we have made since the The Light Project and, for a long time, I have personally covered many of the growing costs rather than asking our sponsors to give more. But as food, school, clothing, transportation, and everyday needs continue to rise, we have reached a point where a small adjustment is necessary to continue giving our children the level of support they deserve.
And I want to be very clear; if the increase creates a hardship for any of our current sponsors, please reach out to me. We will work it out. This has never been about the money. It has always been about our kids.
Our recent progress reports were also a reminder that we have more work to do. Many of our children carry burdens far beyond what children should have to carry, and their quality of life directly affects their ability to learn. A child who is fed, rested, safe, and supported has the energy to walk into school ready to succeed. We don’t just want our children enrolled in school, we want them to thrive there.
That is why our January mission is about more than a visit. We will be building Jabali’s first chicken coop, creating a sustainable food source that can support our children, their caregiving families, and Jabali celebrations for years to come.
We are continuing to build Jabali into something sustainable; something that gives these children not only an education, but the stability and opportunity to truly succeed.
And today, Bradox, Joy, and Blessing are still waiting for someone to join their village.
