Well its been a good ride. We've helped so many people in need through the years. We've had the best volunteers, supporters that have helped us financially be able to do what we've done since the vision started in 2008. For the last 10 years we've raised over 40 thousand dollars and less then 1% of that went to operating fees. That's a lot of PBJ's and goodie bags of essentials needed to help those in need. The board of directors has made the decision to dissolve the 501(c)3. It's been a hard decision but with retirements and relocations it's just impossible to organize and execute our services to those in need. In trying to find willing volunteers to take over and learning all the hoops needed, legal expenses it just didn't work out.
Now on to the positive. With dissolving were able to pass along the balance of our account to a organization we worked with on several holidays providing meals to those in need. Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC) will be receiving a nice donation of over 5K to help them with the holidays.
We would like to thank everybody for the support and help we received through these years.
Sincerely,
The board of directors of Operation Peanut Butter & Jelly Inc.
