We all just found out as well our Chief that his little Brother Lieutenant Daniel Lee Matychak of PENNellville Volunteer Fire Department Oswego County, NY, is fighting Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cancer, which this attached video showing 2 engines in front and rear of his vehicle, a heavy rescue from Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department, Oswego County, NY, and 1 Engines and 1 Rescue from his former fire department, Enterprise Fire Rescue Phoenix, Oswego County, NY, had emergency surgery to remove portion of his tongue and lymph nodes to remove Major of the cancer. He spent 8 days in Rochester Hospital.
He’s now resting comfortably at home with his live in Finance and 2 year old so. On September 22, 2026, he begins his chemotherapy to remove the rest of the cancer. The doctors expects him to recover fully.
We the Officers and the Members are praying for Lieutenant Matychak for his speedy recovery and to remind that no one fights alone that we all are family and we all care. We are praying for you and your family as well for your Brother Chief Matychak as we know this a difficult time for both knowing that cancer has struck your family hard with your mother, than your dad, them your sister in law and now you. Your family hasn’t a break. Good luck Lieutenant Matychak!!!
