Western Dressage Association of Florida

Western Dressage Association of Florida Western Dressage is an "old-new" training discipline in the equine world. It's about the journey!

The Western Dressage Association® of Florida is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to align itself with the purposes and mission of the Western Dressage Association® of America (WDAA). It uses the basics of suppleness, communication and drive of dressage with the foundation of the working western horse. We welcome and encourage ALL breeds and levels of riders to participate to get a better connection with your horse!

✨ **WDAFL Member Spotlight** ✨

This month, we’re excited to spotlight **April Hardeman** from Williston!

April has been involved in western dressage for several years, getting her start alongside her mom, Suzanne Ashley, when they helped launch Western Dressage of Georgia. She served as treasurer and even built the organization’s website—helping grow the sport and support riders in their region.

What April loves most about western dressage is its emphasis on correct fundamentals, relaxation, and developing a true partnership with the horse. It’s a discipline that perfectly aligns with her goals, allowing her to focus on quality horsemanship while building skills that carry over into all areas of riding.

When she’s not in the saddle, April works in the equine industry, helping horse owners, trainers, and farms with equine insurance. She especially enjoys giving back to the horse community through her work, including supporting and sponsoring equestrian events she’s passionate about.

At home, she continues to ride, learn, and grow with her horse, always working toward her long-term goals. She’s grateful for the supportive environment the western dressage community provides and loves being part of a group that shares her passion for developing horses the right way.
