Summer in Marion County is a beautiful reminder of exactly what we are working to protect. From rolling green pastures and working farms to the horses and people who make this community unlike anywhere else, horse country is more than a landscape—it is a way of life worth preserving 🐴

From May 1 through July 31, we were proud to welcome new members to the Horse Farms Forever® community while celebrating the continued commitment of our returning members.

Charlotte Weber filed a second complaint on July 22, 2026, that challenges the Development Review Committee’s approval of the Major Site Plan and the building permits issued in June for the WEC Polo Field and Facilities. ⁣
⁣
The site plan for the WEC Polo Field and Facilities was approved at the June 22 Development Review Committee meeting — and just like a Trojan Horse, what appears on the outside isn’t the whole story. ⁣
⁣
According to the complaint, “it was all a sham”, as Golden Ocala merely changed some of the nomenclature to align with the “Polo Field” approval from the 2020 PUD Rezoning. However, the Major Site Plan and the building permits align with the sports facilities complex that was the subject of the 2026 Pending Approvals, which are not in effect due to the first complaint filed by Ms. Weber in April.⁣
⁣
In fact, as the second complaint states, “the electrical lighting permits authorize banks of lights and seating where the separations are between the southern three soccer fields, which would be in the middle of the alleged “Polo Field.” That would certainly be an interesting wrinkle in the sport of polo.”⁣
