NAMI Florida Our page exists to raise awareness about mental well-being and share the valuable resources offered by NAMI Affiliates statewide.

We're here to assure people affected by mental health challenges that they are not alone. At NAMI Florida, we strengthen lives—and strengthen Florida’s behavioral health system. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions through high-quality education, support, and advocacy. As the state organization of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)—the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization with Affiliates in all 50 states—NAMI Florida advances a nationally recognized model of education, support, and advocacy, bringing national standards, national credibility, and a unified, nationwide mission to our work here in Florida. A national movement with statewide impact:
Since 1984, NAMI Florida has served as the statewide hub of a nationwide Alliance. The NAMI Alliance in Florida includes a network of 20 local Affiliates that provide evidence-informed classes, support groups, and community presentations at no cost. Many Affiliates also strengthen Florida’s behavioral health workforce through the 40-hour peer specialist training course. We also partner with employers to build stigma-free workplace cultures that prioritize mental wellness while maintaining healthy professional boundaries and expectations. What sets the NAMI Alliance apart is lived experience:
Across the country—and across Florida—NAMI staff, trainers, and volunteers are individuals who have navigated mental health challenges themselves or supported loved ones through them. This firsthand experience drives program quality, empathy, and trust. As the state organization, NAMI Florida plays a pivotal role in Florida’s behavioral health ecosystem.

- Training & Leadership Development
We train and certify program leaders, facilitators, and presenters to uphold NAMI’s national standards, ensuring that Floridians receive consistent, high-quality support statewide.

- Statewide Warmline
Our Warmline connects callers with compassionate support and links them to their local NAMI Affiliate and other community resources.

- Advocacy & Policy Leadership
Guided by NAMI’s national policy priorities, NAMI Florida champions policies that strengthen access, accountability, and community-based care across Florida. Learn more at www.namiflorida.org. Together, we can advance a stronger, more compassionate mental health system for all Floridians.

November 3, 2026 is Election Day! 🗳️

Do you know what’s on your ballot?

Over the next several days, we’ll be breaking down different parts of Amendment 3 to help you better understand what you’re voting on and what it could mean for Floridians.

We want to be very clear about one thing: We’re not here to influence your vote or tell you how to vote. We’re here to share information so you can make the decision that’s right for you.

We believe informed voters make informed decisions, and that’s what this series is all about.

It’s your vote. It’s your choice. We just want you to be informed.

Hope Changes Lives. Compassion Makes It Possible.

On this World Mental Health Day, we are reminded that hope can begin with something as simple as listening, a kind word, or just saying, "You are not alone."

Hope doesn't mean pretending that the journey is easy. It means believing that recovery is possible.

No one should have to face mental health challenges without support.

Compassion is how we turn that hope into action. It's listening without judgment, reaching out to someone who is struggling, and making sure people know that help is available.

At NAMI Florida, we believe that when someone reaches out for help, someone should be there ready to listen, offer support, and help them find a path forward.

Today, and every day, let's choose compassion, inspire hope, and work together to build a Florida where no one faces mental health challenges alone.

Because everyone deserves hope. And everyone deserves to be heard.

October 10th is World Mental Health Day, and we’re working toward our fundraising goal to help NAMI Florida keep answering the call! Our goal is to raise 10k by the 10th.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue showing up for individuals and families who need someone to listen, someone who understands, and somewhere to turn.

Please consider giving today at namiflorida.org.

Because sometimes the person holding everything together needs someone to lean on, too.

🌙 If today feels heavy, please know you don’t have to carry it alone.

The 2026 NAMI Florida Annual Conference brought together advocates, people with lived experience, family members, behavioral health professionals, community partners, affiliate leaders, and friends from across Florida to the same table.

We shared stories of hope and recovery. We talked about peer support, crisis response, recovery, artificial intelligence, family engagement, community partnerships, and the future of behavioral health care in Florida.

Most importantly, we strengthened connections.

People with different experiences and perspectives were there, united by a common purpose: creating a Florida where people affected by mental illness and their families can find support, hope, and a path forward.

We are deeply grateful to our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, affiliate leaders, partners, and every one of you who brought your knowledge, stories, questions, and heart to the table.

And we’re already looking forward to doing it again! Save the date: September 16–18, 2027, at the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek.

Together, we can transform care.
