Calling all Veterans, Active-Duty Military, and Service Members Transitioning to Civilian Life! Arts in Health Ocala Metro invites you to JAM Corps - a space where veterans can reconnect—through music, through creativity, and through each other.

Each week, veterans are invited to gather at VFW Auxiliary Post 4209 Ocala, FL, with their instruments, and take part in relaxed, collaborative jam sessions. Whether you play often or haven’t picked up your instrument in years, JAM Corps is about participation, not perfection.

November 10, 2026 | Marion Theatre | No Cost Admission

Celebrate the power of music and community at the inaugural Jam Corps Showcase. Featuring performances by AIHOM Jam Corps and members of the Ocala Vet Center Jam Band, this special Veterans Day-eve concert highlights favorite songs performed in a collaborative jam-band style. Doors open at 5:00 PM, with the performance from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Presented by Arts in Health Ocala Metro and Ocala's Marion Theatre.

zWe invite you to join us for The Art of Arts in Health, a new art exhibit part of the Art in City Spaces initiative, and a celebration of the collaboration between AIHOM and The Arc Marion County, FL.

This exhibit elevates the voices of Arc clients by showcasing art made by Arc clients during weekly AIHOM visual arts workshops led by Artist Practitioner, Christopher Hershberger. Our arts programs offer Arc clients a space to grow, build their self-confidence, and express themselves through art.

We are excited to partner with HCA Florida West Marion Hospital to launch a new movement series at HCA Florida West Marion Hospital designed specifically for cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors - focused on healing, strength, wellness, and connection through movement.

This FREE Chair Movement Series will be offered once per month. Next session: Monday, October 26.

Individual pieces became part of something larger during our weekly arts for wellbeing workshop at Marion Senior Services.

Participants created colorful collaged quilt squares using geometric paper shapes and floral imagery, exploring creativity through cutting, arranging, and design. When displayed together, the squares formed a vibrant collaborative quilt, demonstrating how each person's unique contribution helps create a beautiful whole.

Activities like collage can support cognitive engagement, fine motor skills, focus, and self-expression for older adults. Just as importantly, creating art in a group setting encourages conversation, friendship, and a sense of belonging, helping combat loneliness and strengthen social connections.

Like a quilt, community is created one piece at a time. 💛
