School's out in Oblong. We invite young people to enjoy The Landing this summer. We will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. See you there.

The Landing will be open again beginning Tuesday, March 10. Looking forward to the building being full of after-school kiddos again! Come see us and play a game of pool, ping pong, carpetball, air hockey, or just lounge on the bean bags.

Breaks my heart to do this, but with the schools in Oblong closed today, we'll need to reschedule the 3rd Annual After-School Christmas party for today. (And I wrapped 50 gifts!!) They will just have to wait. Look for an announcement about a JANUARY 2026 party. We'll make sure there is still pizza and fun, but we'll schedule after the holidays. Sorry, kids.

Big News (well, big if you like ice cream)! The Landing is having an ice cream day, thanks to Priscilla's Circle at First Christian Church in Oblong! What day? We chose FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13! There will be no bad luck if you show up at 4:00 at The Landing this day. . .only free ice cream sandwiches (until supplies run out). Just stop by. We'll be handing them out right and left!!

Funny story. . .no picture, but you'll like this one.

One young lad who comes often to The Landing on week days has been bringing games with him to play on our PlayStation, XBox, Game Cube (I don't even know what we have to be honest). But, the boys who come daily know, and they know what they want to play.

They got smart and thought, "If we get Keith to buy these from us, they will always be here, and we won't have to remember to bring them with us." So, one went off, pitched a selling price of $3, and Keith produced the cash. Boom. . .this kid is smart.

Fast-forward two, maybe three days. . . same boys, new game, and (drum roll, please), NEW PRICE.

Keith says, "Hmmm...the price has gone up on this one. $5 this time?"

The bike-riding, quick-witted, salesman of an 10-yr-old says, "Well, you know, factoring in the price of gas. . . " (Smack my head.)
