Postlewait-Griffin OHS Scholarship Ride Event
First, we want to thank everyone who has ever been involved with the Postlewait-Griffin OHS Scholarship Ride event! You have shown up for us YEAR AFTER YEAR and we could not have done this without you.
I personally want to also extend my gratitude to the Postlewait, Griffin, Clark and Snider family members, Bill Burke and his team, the Oblong FFA Chapter, Local 157, T Graphics team, Phyllis Love for making our flyers and scholarship certificates, and all others, who have helped support this event and pull it together every single year. It takes a small army and God provided that army. We give Him ALL the Glory!
God also provided a large crowd of folks each year (so much so that we had to change our venue more than once) to come together to honor the memories of Stephen and John in such an amazing way. We have truly been blessed by your ongoing support. Several people have even worked for us from out of state, or traveled from out of state, to support this event. Whether you bought a single raffle ticket or many, ordered T-shirts, donated items for our auction, donated money, donated and helped with our gun for the gun raffle (Snider Sporting Goods), donated pork for the hog raffle (Pioneer City Meat Market), donated food or drinks for the meal, showed up to eat lunch and bid on auction items, gave your time to work at this event, (or all of the above), you helped make this happen. It has been a good run!
With all the work involved in getting this ride together (It is a LOT!), Steve’s health issues and none of us getting any younger, some of us feel the need to slow down. I personally want to focus more on my time with my granddaughter and other family members, marketing my book, start writing my second one, and my other ministries. I also hope to finally catch up on some things around home.
For those who ask, “Will the younger generation take over the ride?” We (the parents of Stephen and John) do not want them to. They have their own lives and families to care for and we want them to relax and enjoy their children as much as possible.
We are officially announcing that our sixteenth ride last year was most likely our sunset to this chapter in our lives. Due to your ongoing support, we can give out several more scholarships. You all have made this possible. Thank you for that, and God bless you ALL!

Aside from the reason we were all doing this in the first place, this has been a BEAUTIFUL RIDE!
We will miss Stephen and John until we are together, never-to-part again. Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of eternal life! John 3:16.
If you would like to continue to donate to this cause; monetary donations can be made at the Oblong Branch of the First National Bank of Olney and deposited into the Stephen Cole Postlewait and John Adam Griffin Oblong High School Scholarship Fund.
