We will kick off our 2026 shotgun season Sunday, June 7th at 2 at the gun club east of town. If you are interested at all, come check it out. You don't have to currently be a member of 4h to compete! You can join under our team and compete through the season. We compete in trap, s***t, and sporting clays. Our shooters can compete in one or all. We had another successful delivery for donation fundraiser again this year! We had a very busy night last night! We know several of you put in the extra effort to keep calling until you were finally able to get through just to support this fundraiser. We can't thank the community enough for the amount of support we continue to get for our shooting sports program! We also want to give a HUGE thank you to The Sunflower Recreation Center, Tasha and Kyle Carman, as well as Madeline Newell for doing all of the cooking and getting orders out in an extremely timely manner. We greatly appreciate our youth that are involved as well as their parents. It takes a lot of dedication from them to get through every season. And of course our biggest thank you goes to Carrie Morford. She continues to be a very crucial piece of this organization. We are extremely lucky to have her in our corner. Thank you again everybody!

The rifle and pistol season has come to an end with the State competition on Saturday, and as usual, we have come home with some new hardware.
In the Air Pistol competition, we had two shooters, Chevy Larson in the Jr Division and Trevor Witt in the Sr Division. Chevy placed 4th on the paper target competition, 6th in the silhouette, and 5th overall. Congrats to both shooters.
In the BB gun competition, we had four shooters, Emmett Tally in Jr. Division, and in Sr. Division, Chevy Larson, Silas Tally and Corey Marcum. Competition was some of the toughest we have seen this year, but Corey managed to place 2nd in the Sitting position, 4th in the Kneeling position, and 2nd overall, tying with 1st place. The tie breaker was number of bullseyes. Congrats to all four shooters.
In the Air Rifle competition, we had two shooters, Corey Marcum in the Jr Division and Trevor Witt in the Sr Division. Corey placed 2nd in the paper target competition, 1st in the silhouettes, and placed 2nd overall. Congrats to both shooters.
A big congrats to Corey and Chevy on their awards, and to all of our shooters for making it to state. They have not posted the final results, so I don't know where everyone else placed, but I am a pretty proud coach of our small group of shooters. We look forward to next year with a little more age and experience, and maybe some more new shooters.
Thank you to everyone involved for making this a great season!

We would greatly appreciate your support again this year!

Our shotgun team competed at the state shoot in Wichita this last weekend bringing another season to a close. Out of our 6 team shooters on the season, 5 were able to qualify for state, of which, 3 made the tournament for the first time. I couldn't have been more pleased with the way not only the weekend went but the season as a whole. Our shooters continually put in a ton of time and effort every season going through ups and downs. From practicing in high winds and freak thunderstorms, to battling station 8 until it's no longer intimidating, fighting shoulders that are about to fall off, having gun failures that lead to mom and dad's next expensive purchase, stepping into the box for the first time in front of 200 people, or having to fight your way through the infamous sophomore slump, one thing is certain, our shooters showed up everyday to practice and competition giving it there all, wanting to succeed. I look forward to seeing what this young team has in store over the next several years as they continue to make huge improvements from the beginning to the end of every year. Great job shotgun team on another successful season!
