Happy trail Thursday Kamas Valley! Slate Creek Trail is running great and the Upper Left Hand Loop and White Fir Downhill are clear and dry so get out there and enjoy some trail time.

Mountain Trails Foundation has been hard at work cleaning up the trails and improving the Ponderosa Loop. Please keep an eye out for trail crews as there may be equipment on the trails, and be sure to get them a thumbs up and a thank you for all of their hard work!

For those of you who are planning your rides ahead of time, please keep in mind that the Coyote Trail System will be hosting a large trail running event Wednesday, May 20th. Check out for details.

Keep up the positive vibes trail users, and always leave the trails a better place for the next users who come along!

Hey Kamas Valley Community! We need your help. These images are of a truck and trailer that appears to have taken their horses on the Slate Creek trail (not an equestrian trail.) We'd like to find this individual so that they can have a conversation with the US Forest Service.

A couple reminders:

- Yes, you can be fined for using USFS lands when signage indicates no horses allowed.

- Yes, these footprints are considered significant damage to the trail surface.

- Yes, it could cost thousands to fix this damage (Mountain Trails just finished maintenance on this trail system).

There are literally thousands of acres of land that you can ride horses on in the Uinta Mountains and about 15 miles of trails that are specific to mountain biking.

There are still a few spots on the Upper Left Hand Loop with a little snow on them at Slate Creek Trails, and White Fir is still a little soft from the rain. Should be hero dirt by this weekend!

Get out there and enjoy the trail (after this rain clears up)! Blake Hansen was out enjoying a ride down the Weber River Pathway this week.

Blake says: "It's a dream come true that I can ride my horse through these beautiful parks down to the Oakley Rodeo Arena to train my horse."

We're sorry!

We received some bad intel on the new Utah law HB 381 regarding electric bikes. Here's what we understand.

If any of the following applies, your bike is an e-moto:

- Has a throttle that will drive the bike without peddling past 20 mph
- Assists you in moving forward more than 20 mph, and does not have a speedometer
- Assists you in moving forward more than 28 mph
- Does not have factory/manufacturer installed cranks
- Has a motor output of greater than 750 watts

Even if you have an e-bike and not an e-moto, please be aware that many trail systems (public or private) do not permit their usage or may permit usage with valid exception documentation. Using an e-bike, or e-moto where you shouldn't could land you in hot water resulting in:

- Fines
- Damages
- Impoundment

Happy Thursday everyone! We're going to get in the habit of posting weekly some fun activities you can do on our trails. With the weather this week we're going to spend some more time in the gym, doing some maintenance on our favorite trail equipment, or kicking back and enjoying some screen time before the weather gets nice again!

Please respect the work organizations like ourselves, our cities, counties, and the State of Utah put into our trail systems by staying off the trails when it's wet or muddy.

We've been active lately posting about different trail features and additions to our community.

We've received feedback from the community about making sure that we include opportunities for all trail users (bikers/hikers/equestrians).

Not every project is going to benefit every group in the same exact way, however we'll make sure that we're considering all users in our overall support of trail usage.

Additionally, we're going to try to highlight the different resources that each group might enjoy as a way of making sure everyone is aware of all of the awesome outdoor activities that all groups have available to them in our wonderful valley.

If you answered yes to any of these questions you have an electric motorcycle. An electric motorcycle is treated the same as a gas motorcycle and requires:

- Registration
- An OHV course if the rider is less than 18 years of age
- Must be used only where motorized vehicles are allowed

Riding an electric motorcycle unregistered or where it is not allowed may result in fines, legal responsibility for damages, and your ride being impounded.
