For Corbett, the greatest challenge wasn't understanding others. It was helping others understand him.

Because Corbett is non-speaking, he struggled to communicate with friends and family and often felt misunderstood. When asked what he wished for most, his answer was simple: he wanted the people he loved to understand him. 💙

To grant his wish, “Camp Corbett” was created to help family and friends learn how to communicate with him using assistive technology and his unique communication style.

"I felt loved because my friends and family learned to talk with me," he shared.

This , we're celebrating the power of connection, belonging, and being truly seen and heard. 🌎

Jaden is a sweet 4-year-old who loves Dr. Seuss books, Mickey Mouse, and dancing. Above all, he loves spending time with his family, whether he's riding his motorized truck with his sisters, shopping with his parents, or visiting the park with the whole family. Jaden was diagnosed with leukemia as a toddler and has faced his medical journey with remarkable bravery.

For his wish, Jaden chose to go on a shopping spree to buy fun clothes and toys. 🛍️ During his special day at the mall, he picked out hoodies, sneakers, and cool graphic tees. He also chose a battery-powered NASA space buggy, adding another vehicle to his growing collection.

Jaden's shopping spree was a joyful milestone in his recovery journey, filling his day with fun, excitement, and special finds that will create lasting memories for years to come. 💫

When Pharoah imagined his wish, he didn't ask for a faraway adventure. He wished for something closer to home. 🏡

After years of hospital visits, surgeries, and uncertainty, he wanted a place where he could play with his friends and family again.

Today, his custom backyard playground is filled with laughter, games, and family memories. 💫

“Now we have a way to create these bonds and memories that don’t involve anything medical. It gave him peace. And it helped heal us in ways I don’t think anyone truly understands,” shared Pharoah's mom.

As the seasons change, we're reminded that some of life's sweetest moments happen right in our own backyard. 💙

When 11-year-old Anika was diagnosed with leukemia, her parents made the difficult decision to temporarily relocate to Memphis, Tennessee, so she could receive treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

During her long and challenging medical journey, Anika missed her home, school, and friends back in Berkeley. But she found comfort in some very special companions: the hospital’s therapy dogs. The Golden Retrievers’ gentle, nurturing personalities brought her much-needed joy and connection and inspired her wish to have a Golden Retriever of her very own. 🐕

“Make-A-Wish has truly been a huge blessing for our family," Anika's mom, Karin, shared. "Anika's wish gave her something joyful to focus on and helped her feel encouraged and supported as she imagined what it would be like to make this dream come true.” 💙

Today, Anika is happily caring for and training her new pup, Rudder, just like she imagined. She’s even begun showing him in AKC Juniors competitions. The same comfort and companionship Anika found in the therapy dogs who brightened her days in the hospital now lives on in Rudder, whose boundless love and joyful spirit remind her every day how far she has come.
