They call wish kid Anthony the “mayor” of his school because everyone knows him. So, when it came time to choose his wish, he wanted to give his school for the blind an accessible playground. When it opened, his first words were, “Let’s play!” 💙

“Watching the kids from kindergarten through high school enjoy the playground is more than worth it. These kids deserve the world, happiness, and joy, and I can’t wait for all the memories they're going to make on this playground. All the kids asked, 'Are we going to come back tomorrow?'” – Cierra, Anthony’s mom

Now, students of all abilities have a place to play, connect, and just be kids together. And Anthony’s wish will continue to bring joy to his classmates for years to come. 🤗

A big THANK YOU to all who joined us for 2026 Walk for Wishes last Saturday, August 15, in Los Gatos!

Wish families, volunteers, fundraisers, corporate partners, and supporters spent the morning walking, celebrating, and showing what's possible when our community comes together to make wishes come true. 💙

Together, we raised more than $140,000—enough to grant 14 life-changing wishes for local children with critical illnesses! ⭐👟

Maurice’s wish takes flight! ✈️

Born with a blood disorder, Maurice has spent much of his life in treatment, but he never stopped dreaming of becoming a pilot.

With the help of his community, that wish took off. Maurice toured a jumbo jet, met real pilots, suited up in his own uniform, and trained in a professional flight simulator.

His wish gave him something powerful: freedom, joy, and hope for brighter days ahead. 💙

For volunteer Lindsey Fontenot, seeing the expressions on children’s faces is the best part of volunteering—like the day her wish-granting team surprised a young girl at karate practice to tell her that her wish was coming true. 🤗💙

Moments like these carry extra meaning for Lindsey, who has experienced the power of a wish firsthand. After being diagnosed with pancreatitis and enduring years of treatment and a major surgery, Lindsey's wish to go to Hawaii with her family came true in 2017.

Now, Lindsey gives back as a wish granter, event volunteer, Wish Ambassador, and more, an experience that's been both emotional and deeply gratifying.

“My first few wishes were very surreal,” she shares. “I’m on the other side now, and I get to be the person helping these kids through their illnesses—that’s my goal. Every wish reveal I’ve done, I still get goosebumps just seeing their smiles and remembering my wish and how that felt.” ✨

At just 6 months old, wish alum Olivia was diagnosed with an enlarged heart. After four months in the hospital, she was finally discharged just before her first birthday—and later that fall, she received a life-saving heart transplant. 💫

After hearing her cardiologist share stories from a recent safari, Olivia knew she wanted to one day see elephants in the wild. Her wish gave her something exciting to look forward to, and once she regained her strength, she took off on her African safari adventure. 🐘

“When that first elephant came up … she lit up. I was just really overcome with joy to see her in that moment. She was not afraid; she was in awe. I don’t think I will ever forget the beauty of that moment and seeing her wish come true, for her to just come alive. It was energizing and transformative.” – Schonay, Olivia’s mom 💙

This year marks nearly 21 years since her heart transplant, and her mom says her wish continues to give her the courage to face what’s ahead. “Olivia can always look back and say, ‘If I walked an elephant around, I can do this next procedure.’”

Avery is a social 4-year-old who loves swimming and Disney princesses. Diagnosed with leukemia at just 10 months old, Avery’s wish gave her something joyful to look forward to—and the chance to experience her favorite things in one magical place: Disneyland.

A fun-filled week in sunny Southern California brought the whole family together. Avery traveled with her parents, Adrienne and Colin, and younger brother Colton to enjoy cotton candy, plenty of pool time, and waterslides. One highlight was a special meet-and-greet with Elsa and Anna of Arendelle from “Frozen.” For the family, the trip was a welcome reprieve after years of treatment, stress, and uncertainty.

“Thank you so much for such a wonderful trip for Avery,” shared Adrienne. “Everything was so seamless and we were all able to have such a magical time.”
