Marines, one Soldier, and one Sailor — killed in the attack at Abbey Gate.**
Twenty years old.
A Marine.
A young man who answered the call to serve.
And a life that should have had so many more chapters.
But Dylan's story did not end at Abbey Gate.
His legacy continues through an organization created in his memory:
Legends Live Forever
Their mission is rooted in the values Dylan lived by:
Service. Courage. Selflessness.
Legends Live Forever is committed to helping veterans and empowering young adults to pursue their dreams. Through assistance and opportunities, they work to preserve Dylan's legacy of making a difference in the lives of others.
And they are doing that in a very tangible way.
To further Dylan's legacy, they established a scholarship fund to support students pursuing higher education.
Since 2024, the foundation has awarded more than $6,000 in scholarships to deserving students who embody the qualities of dedication and perseverance.
Think about that.
A young Marine who gave everything in service to others is now helping young people build their futures.
That is what legacy looks like.
That is what it means to carry someone's story forward.
Our Journey of Remembrance isn't simply about looking back.
It's about making sure these names are never forgotten.
It's about learning who they were.
It's about honoring the values they lived by.
And it's about supporting the people who continue their work and preserve their legacies.
Today, we carry Dylan's name.
Today, we remember his sacrifice.
And today, we honor the people making sure his legend lives forever.

assigned to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, California.
On August 26, 2021, Daegan was supporting the non-combatant evacuation operation at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.
That day, an attack at Abbey Gate took the lives of 13 American service members.
Eleven Marines.
One Soldier.
One Sailor.
Daegan was one of them. �

At just 23 years old, his life was cut short while he was serving his country and helping carry out an evacuation mission.
But his story did not end that day.
His legacy continues through the Corporal Daegan Page Foundation.
And their mission begins with four words:
Love never ends.
The foundation is committed to standing beside:
Those who serve.
Those who support them.
And those who carry the weight of loss.
They serve by showing up with compassion, purpose, and action.
Every program is built to support service members, their families, and the legacy of those we will never forget.
That mission is powerful because it understands something we believe deeply at Freedom Ops Endeavor:
Remembering someone means more than saying their name.
It means showing up.
It means helping others.
It means carrying their values forward.
It means taking the love and sacrifice left behind and turning it into something that can make a difference in someone else's life.
Daegan gave his life in service to others.
Today, his legacy continues to serve others.

Because these 13 Marines, Soldiers, and Sailors were not numbers.
They were sons and daughters.
Brothers and sisters.
Husbands and fathers.

A Wyoming Marine.
A lifelong wrestler.
A fiercely loyal patriot.
And a young man whose life was taken far too soon.
Rylee was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, California.

That is exactly what the Rylee McCollum Heart of Gold Memorial Foundation is doing.
The foundation exists to honor Rylee's life, character, and ultimate sacrifice.
And their mission is beautifully simple:
Through annual scholarships and acts of service, they work to empower the next generation of leaders who reflect Rylee's:
Courage.
Resilience.
And deep love for his country.
What an incredible way to carry someone's legacy.
Instead of allowing his story to end with his death, they are using his life as inspiration for others.
Young people are being given opportunities.
Acts of service are being carried out.
Future leaders are being encouraged to live with the same courage, resilience, and patriotism that defined Rylee.
His life continues to influence others.
His values continue to be passed forward.
His story continues.
And that is why this Journey of Remembrance matters so much to us.
We aren't just counting miles.
We aren't just carrying weight.
We are carrying stories.
We are carrying names.
We are carrying the memory of people who gave everything.
And we are carrying a responsibility to make sure that the world remembers that behind every name was a person who was loved.
Today, we carry Rylee.
Today, we honor his family.
Today, we remember the Marine, the wrestler, the patriot, and the person behind the name.
And today, we celebrate the people who continue to turn his memory into action.
Rylee had a Heart of Gold.

Today, Danny is putting in the miles solo as the Journey of Remembrance continues.
But the truth is, even when one of us is walking alone, he is never truly alone.
He carries the names.
He carries the stories.
He carries the memories.
And he carries the mission of Freedom Ops Endeavor with every step.
So why are we doing this?
Because we believe remembrance should lead to action.
We want to honor those we've lost—not only on September 11th, but all those whose lives have been taken while serving others, those lost to tragedy, and those who fought battles with mental health and didn't make it through.
We want to remember their lives, support their families, shine a light on organizations doing meaningful work, and most importantly, build a community where people don't have to face adversity alone.
That is why our mission is:
FORGE STRENGTH.
FORTIFY COMMUNITY.
FRACTURE THE DARKNESS.
And we don't want this Journey to be the end.
We want it to be the beginning of more events, more connections, more opportunities to serve, and more ways to help people who are facing their own difficult journeys.
