shares how being offered a training scholarship as a teen changed the course of his life.

Today, we have kids around the world being given that same opportunity. Most will never become professional fighters, but many will go on to become coaches, mentors, leaders, and successful adults in their own journeys.

Dojo storm at

In a country of 127 million people, we launched Ethiopia’s first youth jiu jitsu program.

Jiu jitsu is still so new here that many do not fully understand how effective it can be in real fighting and MMA.

In the 90s, dojo storming and open challenges were part of jiu jitsu history. In Ethiopia, we are seeing echoes of that same early stage, with our young athletes being challenged by local martial artists who want to test what jiu jitsu is really about.

This isn’t about proving toughness.

It’s showing that jiu jitsu works, that these youth are learning something real, and that a new generation of Ethiopian athletes is being built from the ground up.

History is repeating itself, but this time it is happening in Addis Ababa.

At first glance, it looks like a fun street performance. A young kid breathing fire in Ho Chi Minh City, maybe trying to earn money for his family.

But situations like this can be more complicated than they appear.

Many children working like this are under pressure from adults who control and exploit them. They often using fuels like kerosene, which carry serious long term health risks.

After he came up to our table, Jonathan Tran the leader of took a moment to talk with him. His name is Bin and we have offered him a full scholarship to train with us and provide him some additional support with clothes and other necessities.

Nothing is guaranteed, but we are hopeful.

We look forward to sharing updates and hopefully seeing Bin on the mats this week.

Our good friend spent the last week helping our kids at

Each mentor who visits brings a unique set of skills they can share with the kids.

Pierre led a seminar for the teens on how to use social media, build a personal brand, and tell stories.

He taught that social media doesn’t have to be a distraction. It can be a place to create, share who they are, and maybe even lead to new opportunities.

When kids meet people who are building things with their lives, it can shift what they pay attention to, what they believe is possible, and how they see their own future.

Gracias Pierre.

Gracias Pierre.
