We're thrilled about CA Governor Gavin Newsom's announcement making emergency asthma medication FREE and available at public and charter schools across the state.

As RAMP's Anne Kelsey Lamb, MPH put it, “California has been leading the way in comprehensive asthma management, including Medi-Cal coverage of home-based asthma interventions and innovative policies to reduce outdoor air pollution. Providing access to quick-relief medications, with appropriate training for school staff, is a critical component of a comprehensive approach to improving asthma outcomes — another example of California’s leadership that will quite literally help children breathe easier.”

Only two days left to register for our upcoming webinar "Sustainable Financing for Home-Based Asthma Services: Snapshots of Innovation and Progress Across the Country" happening Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 2-3 PM ET. During Asthma Awareness Month, we are excited to partner with the National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH) to highlight innovative approaches helping expand and sustain asthma home visiting programs nationwide.

Asthma home visiting is an evidence-based intervention proven to reduce healthcare costs and improve asthma outcomes. Despite robust evidence of their impact, however, programs historically have had to rely on unstable grant funding to provide services. But in recent years, that pattern has begun to shift, and we have seen progress in communities and states across the country in building systems for sustainable asthma home visiting services.

There are many pathways for achieving sustainable home-based asthma services. As such, progress can look different from one place to the next. This webinar will feature success stories from across the country, highlighting both state Medicaid policy advances and stories about local partnerships, and other innovations that create a groundswell for statewide change — all serving as models for new community action.

Learning Objectives- By the end of this webinar, participants will:
1️⃣ Understand what progress and pathways for building systems to expand and sustain access to home-based asthma services might look like
2️⃣ Identify one or more pathways that may lead toward sustainable home-based asthma services in their community or state
3️⃣ Know how to access free technical assistance and tools to support efforts in their community or state.
