It's the height of plum season, we spent Friday harvesting and redistributing ripe plums throughout North Oakland. There should be more plums to share in the coming days for anyone who'd like some, but didn't get any this time around. Thanks to Alexandra Whisnant for the photo.

Hey everyone! Forage City, which is a project Youth Radio's Mobile App Lab and I have been developing over the last 2 years, is competing in the Knight News Challenge. We have the chance to be awarded quite a bit of $$ to roll out the app, but we need you to show your support for the work we're doing. Please "like" the below post, share with your networks-- retweet, etc. to show the Knight Foundation that our community supports our work. Forage City is a web-based app that will allow users to share excess backyard produce with neighbors and non-profits, trade leftovers from CSA boxes, and allow community members without access to fresh fruit to access it (for free).
