We Believe . . . Get on the Bus This page is dedicated to that amazing journey. The sisters held monthly mixers to fill the bus with liked minded Obama supporters.

On January 16, 2009, 54 people boarded a bus in Oakland, California, on their way to the inauguration of the first African-American President, Barack Obama and rolled into history. Sisters Helen, Shirley, Dorothy, Mary and Annie of the famed Everett and Jones Barbeque family restaurants in Oakland, California decided to charter a bus to witness the inauguration of Barack Obama, the first African A

merican President of the United States of America. Brother-in-law Glenn, nephew LaMont and 48 friends and strangers joined the sisters on their historic journey.

Fifty-four passengers boarded a bus at Everett and Jones Barbeque restaurant in Oakland, California and traveled across country to witness history, the 1st Black President Barack Obama for his inauguration January 20, 2009. Time to get the band back together for another road trip.
