Our Legislative Director Jordan Grimes joined KQED Forum to explain why we’re urging voters to reject Prop 45. 🎧

Prop 45 is a corporate-funded rollback of environmental review for some of California’s most harmful projects like CO2 pipelines, data centers, and sprawl in high wildfire areas. For communities who live near freeways and industrial sites, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is one of the few tools they have to push back against more pollution.

And California also doesn’t need Prop 45 to tackle our housing crisis. Last year’s AB 130 exempted nearly all urban housing from environmental review. What Prop 45 offers instead are shortcuts to developers of polluting industries, disguised as relief for Californians who are struggling with the cost of living.

Proposition 45 will hurt the environment and your wallet – vote NO on November 3rd.

Geared toward practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers, this webinar will share the main findings and insights into a local needs assessment report detailing the communities’ experiences with extreme heat, who and where is most impacted, and local visions and solutions. Southwest Santa Rosa is feeling the heat, and the community is leading the response. 🌡️

We’re honored to be featured by the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation alongside our partners at Latino Service Providers for our work on the Southwest Santa Rosa HEAT Action Plan.

Residents are placing heat monitors outside their homes, and our 13 Climate Impact Innovators are out measuring temperatures, mapping shade, and teaching their families and neighbors how to stay safe. Together, they’re creating the neighborhood-level data and community priorities that will shape a Heat Action Plan built by and for Southwest Santa Rosa.

Happy one-year anniversary to Cailin Notch, our East Bay Resilience Manager!

Cailin brings a planner’s eye and a deep love for the East Bay to everything she does. This year she's been out in Oakland, Alameda, and Hayward, bringing residents into the conversation about how their shorelines will adapt to rising seas.

She also helped launch the second cohort of Resilient Roots, our shoreline leadership program that's training Oakland community members to shape the future of their waterfront alongside the Port of Oakland.

When she’s not at work, you’ll probably find her on a bike. She sits on the board of Bike East Bay, sings in a gospel choir, and spends plenty of time out in the East Bay hills.
