Repost Q***r Liberation Network・・・October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and it’s more important than ever to recognize the disproportionate impact of intimate partner, domestic, and family violence on the LGBTQIA2+ community.
Trans women of color are often the target of horrific intimate partner violence, with rates for other sexual orientations and gender identities following closely behind. And with trans people being used as political pawns, it’s gotten progressively more difficult to find gender affirming domestic violence shelters, access resources, and escape abusive environments.
It’s up to us to break the stigma, show up for our LGBTQIA2+ neighbors in crisis, and equip them with the resources they need to escape cycles of abuse.
Together, we can change the reality of these statistics for q***r and trans people.
