There's a Women's Club meeting tonight at the East Bay Dance Center at 7p. We'll talk Summer events and socialize outside in the courtyard. This is a flower crown (lei po'o) made by Audrey at the lei-making party on Saturday. It was practice for the flower crown she wants to put on her daughter's graduation cap in a few weeks. Fantastic work!

I know that May can be the busiest month for so many of you, but if you need a break and are able, we would love to see you on Tuesday, May 19th from 7p-8:15p.

Please rsvp if you are planning to come so that we can put out the approximate number of chairs we will need. This month we will talk about upcoming events and also have plenty of time to socialize.

A few things are happening before next Tuesday:

There is a monthly volunteer work day in Dimond Park on Saturday 5/16 from 9a-11a. https://www.friendsofdimondpark.org/volunteer

There is also a Friday morning neighborhood walk this week and a Sunday hike (thanks so much Roxanne). Here are the details:

Friday morning walks continue with a slightly later start time (9:15am) and May's hike will be on a weekend and will be right out Glenview's backdoor. Here are the details:

Every Friday - Morning Walk
9:15 am (for about 1 hour)
Starts on Glendora Ave - please email [email protected] for more information and to rsvp.

May Hike
Sunday May 17, 9:30 am start from Glendora Ave.
Walk right from Glenview into beautiful natural areas following the Bridgeview trail (above Sausal Creek), going under Hwy 13 via the pedestrian tunnel on Monterey and onwards up the Palos Colorados Trail into Joaquin Miller

Hiking Length is adaptable since it will be an "out-and-back" trail. Full length about 6 miles (3 miles each way) but will try to coordinate women who want to do a shorter hike. Besides the uphill walk to Bridgeview Trail (above Rocky's Market), the other uphill is the Palos Colorados trail which is all uphill but wooded and along the creek. About 800 ft elevation all together.

Please email [email protected] for more information and to rsvp.

Hope to see you on Tuesday!

What a shame. Please help if you can.

Let's make lei for your upcoming graduate. I will work out one or two dates to have a lei-making party. Let me know if you are interested, and I will keep you in the "loop." 🌺

I think we could have made tonight work for a meeting, but there were only 2.5 rsvps and I think I'll take the time that I would have been at the meeting to work on making the May meeting very engaging. I'll also work on the events and the newsletter (if I can make it work).

Sorry for the last minute notice, but I appreciate everyone who reached out, and I hope to see you all on May 19th - I will schedule a speaker and maybe we'll even get one of the neighborhood swaps that we have been talking about started.

Happy almost-Earth Day, and please be in touch with questions and ideas!
