Today is a great reminder of what community looks like when we show up for one another. A Sista’s Touch is at the 2026 Community Health & Wellness Fair, sharing information about our programs and services and connecting with the community.

We’re here until 2:00 p.m. at 1431 17th Street in Oakland. Come by and see us!

A special thank you to Kingdom Builders for organizing this event and making a variety of health and wellness services available, including dental exams, blood pressure checks, chiropractic care, public health resources, and more.

It was also a pleasure to have California State Assemblymember Mia Bonta stop by and take time to learn more about A Sista’s Touch and the work we’re doing in the community.

I’m also happy to see my own dentist, Dr. Jolie Goodman-Leiboe, here providing free dental exams and giving back to the community.

You never know who you’ll encounter when you’re out doing good for the people.

On August 22, 2026, DO and A Sista's Touch stood together with our community to advocate for the health, wholeness, and safety of our children. As civic advocates in the Oakland and Bay Area, we continue to do the vital work of mitigating the devastating perils of human trafficking, an epidemic that disproportionately impacts the Black community on a local level.

Through our "We Run Oakland: For Our Children" series, we brought families and local organizations together to bridge the gap between critical resources, community support, and self-care. It was a powerful reminder that we all share a collective responsibility to STOP human trafficking and protect our youth. By working together, our collective action can drive the incremental changes needed to achieve lasting, positive outcomes.

Looking back at that impactful day only fuels our excitement for what is next.

Planning is officially underway for our milestone 10th Annual Charity 5K Walk/Run! This year, we are staying deeply committed to social justice and standing in the fight against human trafficking in a bold way. To mark a decade of impact, we have set our sights high: we aim to expand our community engagement, increase registrations by at least 10%, and break records by welcoming over 275 participants.

Save the date to walk, run, and advocate with us. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, September 18, 2027 (Location TBD). Together, we can outrun this epidemic.

Missing Person Dalilah Washington: At Risk Due to Age

The Oakland Police Department is requesting assistance from our community and media partners in locating Missing Person Dalilah Washington, who is at risk due to age.

Dalilah Washington was last seen around 9:45 a.m. on June 23, 2026, in the 800 block of 69th Avenue. She was last seen wearing a black shirt with pink writing, black pajama bottoms, and a black-and-white headscarf.

Washington is described as a 14-year-old Black female, standing 5’4” tall and weighing 130 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

💜 Keynote Announcement | Loving Me First Summit 💜

At A Sista’s Touch, we believe confidence is built through preparation.
Through our A Sista’s Always Prepared programs, we create spaces where our Queens in Training grow in confidence, strengthen their voice, and step into who they are becoming.

✨ Loving Me First is the next step in that journey, designed to support high school girls as they build self-awareness, leadership, and preparation for the realities of the world around them. We are honored to welcome Ashante Taylorcox, Founder and Executive Director of You Are More Than as our Keynote Speaker for the Loving Me First Summit, on April 11th, at CSUEB.

As a survivor and advocate, Ashante leads with both lived experience and purpose, creating spaces that uplift, educate, and empower young women to recognize their worth and walk confidently in who they are.

Her voice reflects an important part of our mission, to not only empower, but to educate, uplift, and protect. Because when our girls are confident, informed, and supported, they are better prepared for whatever the world may present.

Loving Me First Summit is a FREE in-person event for high school girls. Due to limited space we welcome those who are committed to attending.
