Day-Use Reservations Now Required Through the Summer at Swallow Falls State Park

Starting this Memorial Day weekend, visitors are required to make reservations at the website https://parkreservations.maryland.gov/. These reservations must be made in advance on weekdays and weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day, as well as on the weekends in May September and October. Reservations are required between 8 AM and 4 PM.

Great news! Bridge work has been completed at Swallow Falls State Park and the main entrance is now open again.

Join Ranger Noah for Salamander Sleuthing on May 16 at 2 p.m. at the New Germany State Park Lake House. This easy 1.5-mile walk will explore where salamanders live, how to find them, and why these fascinating amphibians play such an important role in the ecosystem. Participants will also learn why it’s best to leave salamanders in their natural habitat once discovered.
